I was questing and got dc’d. Now all characters aren’t listed in the realms I play and when I choose the realm, it loads my list but cannot find character. Gotta love it!
Lets see I’ve been a Server Admin, Network Admin, I.T Manager, Ops Manager… in everything from 500 user based organizations to world class banking corporations with banking encompassing 20k ATM’s and 8k Branches to State Government Data Facilities, So yes I’ve been involved with releases of mammoth sizes, and guess what they don’t fail this often this badly. Yes there are some failures in the initial launch (that forgives them 2004-2008) if after your 3rd or 4th release you don’t have it running smoothly you are FIRED and depending on the loss financially you sometimes only get 1 shot. So learn to live in real world, mistakes cost and costs get you fired.
That’s the reason PTR exists. People were testing on the pre-patch. Telling them every single day that it’s not ready. They pushed it out anyways and its broken. They’re idiots and that’s all.
If they openly choose not to fix things that are reported as broken. Things are going to be broken.
I reported every other day on the PTR that the mobs surrounding the last boss in blood furnace, hit you with shadowbolts for 160% of your HP and one shot anyone of any level.
Guess what 1 shot everyone in my group when I ran blood furnace yesterday on live? The bug they didn’t fix because they don’t read anyones feedback on the PTR.
load of rubbish.
i experience issues constantly with banks, post office, phone, internet, ALL of them have issues with their “systems” going down.
heck, even the supermarket had to close last week because they couldn’t use their registers.
just because a thing works on the ptr, doesn’t mean it’s going to be the same when it hits live servers.
correct… which is why they didn’t push the entire pre-patch out at once.
i don’t see you as having made any posts about this?
Character not found…
Come on Blizzard.
I’m missing my characters from last two expansions. Any clue where they went?
Same thing here… from like 2 PM to 5 PM the game was humming along just fine, no issues as far as connectivity.
Stepped out to pick up some groceries/buy a few things. Get back home around 6:10 PM.
Suddenly… “Character not found”, here we go again
I’ve been playing since Cata, and I’ve honestly never experienced it being this bad. Bugs present, sure. Long Cues and crashes? sure.
But I’ve never actually been completely unable to even log into the game itself!
Oh WOW - I just got in, but had to exit the game and re-enter multiple times.
FALSE ALARM - Got excited seeing my characters, but then hit the Character not found bug.
wrong, get out in the world dude… these dudes have no clue as to what is expected in a real data center nor quality control, they better hope wow never goes away, cause if this is their quality of work they will NOT be employed for long elsewhere.
i am in the real world “dude”.
supermarket access amidst a pandemic, is slightly more important than some leisure-time pixels.
You’re supposed to use the report a bug feature on the PTR…which I did. You know…the giant blue box that says REPORT A BUG. Not come to the forums and post about every single bug u find during the PTR.
Guys!.. same we are the lost… hold me. If you can find me, which you cant
i see… so we’ve only got your word for it.
instead of discussing it with other testers, and asking people to group up and test it at various levels, you make a report which can’t be verified by anyone other than yourself.
i found you!
you’re right there!
…and aren’t you just the most adorable little gnome!!
You are the perfect example of why this game is what it is.
Wtf are you talking about. I’m not a game designer its not my job to run a string of tests for them.
Queue for blood furnace. Get 1 shot by the add. Its a bug. I reported as a bug. That’s all. It’s not rocket science. Im not going to get a scientific study group and a 1000 person sample size for every bug I find on the PTR.
It was at least 3 different blood furnace groups, with all 5 people reporting it after. And im sure we’re not the only people that ran blood furnace for the entirety of the PTR
Are you delusional or trolling I honestly can’t tell.
My point is simply if you’re going to have people test your game. And they report bugs. You should fix the bug before the testing phase goes live. Otherwise you’re just wasting peoples time.
Do me a favor. Make a video game. Have it become populated with millions of users that have all decided to log in all at the same time. I understand that we are all very excited to play right now which is why it is super frustrating not being able to log in. However, you cannot blame Blizzard for this. Things will break. We are flying in a ferrari on a 10mph highway. every inch of the game is being stretched. Sometimes an exploit is discovered and blizzard could be using this time to secretly patch it up with all of us offline.
this is NOT the first level squish
character not found. still.
neither… i’m simply thorough when i report something as a bug.
a thing happening one time, doesn’t mean it’s a bug.
a bug is a thing which can be replicated.
so you’d be happy if a release was delayed, because one mob in one instance isn’t working as intended?
please.
No i’d be happy if they fixed the bugs reported on the PTR before sending them broken to live.
Do you have the ability to read?
