Character model controversy

So what you’re saying is the people who got suspended broke the law?

The only mod I saw someone get banned for was one that altered how a skimpy piece of armor looked. Frankly it was a huge improvement, and a very small part of me wants to believe they got banned because Blizzard was a little miffed that someone managed to improve their outdated gear so much. It’s not true obviously but… still.

6 months is a bit much for those particular folks, though.

Are you saying 6month was a justifiable punishment for a 1st ban? Didn’t we discuss this already? I take it you didn’t even read my post thoroughly.

Resorting to personal attacks when you know the content of your attack is false. How quaint.

I don’t think the amount of time you’re SUSPENDED has anything to do with it. It’s more how severe the infraction was. Regardless of that, those people are getting their accounts unsuspended. So there you go.

As I said before I don’t think you read my post thoroughly. Right now I am completely confused on what you’re talking about.

I can assure you I did.

Then how did your post came to what it be? Where did I wrote wrong in my post? There’s a misunderstanding right now.

something is off for sure. I like the eye patch I need to figure out were u got that and go get it for my troll pally

Not really. There have been other waves of bans in the past for this same reason.

I agree 6 months seems extreme for something cosmetic where things like exploits end up with much less

It’s the Crimson Beholder Eye. Looks like you can get it in BC Timewalking.

It’s a drop from a rare spawn in Shadowmoon Valley (TBC version). One of those beholder mobs, forget the name.

What is the formula for that forehead? Why does your icon look like that but your helmet is mogged to hidden

the mog actually really good though. I like it

huh? That’s my weapon in the icon… The angle that these profile pictures are taken from likes to put staves/polearms right in front of the character’s face. It’s really dumb.

Wonder if that’ll ever get fixed

If they did indeed hit people with a 6 months ban I’d say that its rather brave of them, given the drop off in WoW’s MAUs - because it will certainly hit that up to some degree. Or perhaps, % wise, its not that huge a number of people doing it. I’m rather surprised they haven’t mentioned it though, to advise people who may not realise it is such an issue not to consider using it.

While the rule is hidden there in Clause whatever in the Terms of Use, not many of us go over the Terms and study their minutae to figure out if something is ok to use. Some (possibly naieve) people see others doing it and figure, well if they are it must be ok, especially if they are intending on using it for cosmetic purposes. So a warning wouldn’t have hurt, I reckon.

Gnomes may be the master race, but I doubt that’s a very high priority.

Okay so what you don’t agree with? I like for you to elaborate on it.

The fact no official statement from Blizzard yet and the mod squad is closing forums left and right shows they want to not have publicity over this. Go make youtube videos blowup reddit forums and show they can’t control us completely.

They can control their character that you play though. Completely.

I hope gnomish goggles are OK. I’m a goblin engineer by the way.
