And I already said if you were mistakenly banned and it took 2 days to get reinstated then sure you should get 2 days added to your account. I’m fine with that.
Yeah I know I just wish Blizzard had some sort of dignity in their industry so it wouldn’t come down to this.
What dignity? They created a not that banned people who were modding their character models. Everyone who got banned for that broke tos.
I’m not going to get into this with you.
This is ridiculous
Why not? What I’m saying is reasonable.
As I said I’m not going to get into it with you. Our opinions won’t mend well together.
Unfortunately for many help is not easy to get. Mental health often over looked and there really arnt as many pysc docs as you would think. The health system we have in this country makes it so people to want to be in that field . There isnt any money in it.
According to reddit a lot of these bans are getting overturned btw
35 or 36 never remember nor care dont own yet but some day rent sucks
“To ban someone that did nothing wrong” is very bad indeed but that isn’t what happened.
I’m not going to reply to the psychological effects of being banned because I’m not a PhD licensed psychologist I just play a lot of WoW. To say that it requires action taken against Blizzard though is one long stretch. If your mental state is fragile enough to get shook over something like this then you should really ask yourself if this life of crime is for you (because I don’t think it is).
There is no justifiable way to break the ToS. Even if you do it once and get randomly banned 9 months later, and I say random but it’s not really random, because these types of occurrences don’t just happen by mistake.
There have been things I’ve done and accounts, both mine and someone else’s, on the same and other computers in the household remained unaffected. Clean accounts don’t get sucked into ban waves like that.
You do know Blizzard do have some people like that in their facilities right? You just don’t hear about it much because it doesn’t go public.
… what? What facilities are you even talking about?
I assume he’s saying that there are employees who struggle with their own internal / personal problems and that it has taken a turn for the worst in the past.
Thanks, that’s at least some real information.
" Ban Reversals
This afternoon there have been multiple [reports of bans being overturned] purportedly for players who claimed to use the programs for innocuous reasons. While Blizzard has not yet commented on the situation, we can surmise that this means their intent was to target those players actually exploiting and negatively impacting the game, rather than the initial heavy handed pass. Although this is a good thing for those players who’ve found their situation reversed, it should serve as a reminder that while Blizzard may at times choose not to ban people for using programs which break the ToS, those players are still running the risk that it may happen at any time.
It’s understandable that several players feel they are justified in only using the programs to improve their enjoyment of the game, but they are still breaking the ToS which runs the risk of their being banned. No matter how it is justified, whether they’re giving themselves item appearances they haven’t earned, avoiding the cost of race changes, or enhancing their assets, it still falls into the realm of cheating. Especially once those programs start being used to exploit and negatively impact other player’s enjoyment, it’s not surprising that Blizzard would come down hard, so if you’re worried about your account the best advice is has already been given time and time again: [Don’t Cheat]
Precisely and only a few shared their story.
Well I mean… I guess? On the other hand, I work at a restaurant company and we have the same thing you describe. Does that mean the company should be held responsible? No…
Does that mean the company should be held responsible? No…
Depends what the problem was about. Sometimes a company can be held responsible. Strange world we live in right?
I take it as oppressing the law too much comparison. We know they’ve revoked the ban, but the initial of it being a 6 month ban was really ludicrous. It’s kind of like the same sending an innocent to jail for 12 years, but criminals who did worst gets lesser jail time etc etc. Yes it’s a video game without doubt, but remember those in control can oppress the law. Something that should be 2 days gets turned into 6 months.
