“To ban someone that did nothing wrong” is very bad indeed but that isn’t what happened.

I’m not going to reply to the psychological effects of being banned because I’m not a PhD licensed psychologist I just play a lot of WoW. To say that it requires action taken against Blizzard though is one long stretch. If your mental state is fragile enough to get shook over something like this then you should really ask yourself if this life of crime is for you (because I don’t think it is).

There is no justifiable way to break the ToS. Even if you do it once and get randomly banned 9 months later, and I say random but it’s not really random, because these types of occurrences don’t just happen by mistake.

There have been things I’ve done and accounts, both mine and someone else’s, on the same and other computers in the household remained unaffected. Clean accounts don’t get sucked into ban waves like that.

Actually they do happen randomly, and sometimes without reason; though being a big shot just gets you unbanned most of the time anyways. Some of the stuff you’ve done I know I would’ve gotten actioned for.

I take it as oppressing the law too much comparison. We know they’ve revoked the ban, but the initial of it being a 6 month ban was really ludicrous. It’s kind of like the same sending an innocent to jail for 12 years, but criminals who did worst gets lesser jail time etc etc. Yes it’s a video game without doubt, but remember those in control can oppress the law. Something that should be 2 days gets turned into 6 months.

So what you’re saying is the people who got suspended broke the law?

Even after they said they won’t engage in a conversation with you, you continue to attack them spouting the same thing over and over. Read over forum guidelines, you just ‘broke the law’.

There is nothing innocent or harmless about breaking the TOU.

It’s not a moral issue about whom it does or does not affect, it’s about breaking the house rules.

You just broke those rules yourself, in fact everyone does every day on technicality. Pretty sure you’d still be upset if you got banned for it though!

It was never tolerated, if you have been infringing the ToS for years without being caught it doesn’t mean they have to warn you now.

Simple:
Stick to the rules.

One of the rules is to read the rules, of which you clearly have not done since you would know that there are rules basically stating they don’t need any reason to do anything and therefore everything on technicality is breaching the terms you agreed to.

Do you have to be told not to steal too? Common, it’s against the ToS and the company reserves the right to ban and or punish the account… teams have changed, those that might of given a blind eye to it has a new team that did a ban wave on other actions, this was one of it and people can go appeal. Supposedly a lot have been reversed.

It’s their product, whether they do something in a year, two, 10, or never is up to the Company. People should be aware when they do things that alter the game is treading a fine-line.

To all who have chosen to go to sketchy websites and use those cheat/hack/mod addons, you all know better.

Everyone one of you chose to use an addon you knew was not approved and against the rules.

Yet you chose to do it anyway.

If Blizz let you off with a slap on the wrist count yourself lucky and maybe you’ve learned a lesson here.

On technicality, I think if mods are not allowed; add-ons shouldn’t be either. They’ve been shown to give advantages in e-sports among many other things, world first races and what not.

Approved addons/mods aren’t found on cheating/hack sites. If you’re finding your stuff on clearly against the rules websites it’s your problem.

If you have 0 sympathy for those who break the ToS because “they should have read them from start to finish”, you’re a hypocrite.

Maybe, but most of it is common sense.

Anyone with half a brain should know that increasing the size of mining nodes to make them easier to find would be against the rules. Putting nude mods in a game rated T for teens would be against tbe rules. That altering the code for the game is against the rules.

You dont need to read every page of the ToS to know that. Again I have 0 sympathy for these people. Dont do the crime if you cant do the time.

It’s also within their rights to shut down the game right now, delete all characters for no reason, and ban anyone for no reason. Saying ‘it’s within their rights’ is pointless, honestly; so stop doing it. On technicality, everything breaks their rules.

On technicality, so did you; since it’s not the TOS it’s the ToU now. Their rules say there is no reason needed to action an account, therefore everyone is technically in violation.

Again, making a lot of assumptions there! Technically a lot of stuff going on upon Curse/twitch would be considered against the games rules, and just a tip! Where people get these mods are not cheating/hack sites.

Yeah Blizzard can shut down the game anytime, it’s their game. They can shut down your account anytime it’s not your’s it’s theirs.

Right, so there’s no point in making any kind of argument of “But you broke ToS.” Because that’s not a pre-requisite to get an account closed or action.

Yikes, you are really hard-headed here.
Yes, they ‘‘can’’ close accounts without reason but that would cause a lot of legal issues - usually it’s 99.9 with merit that the offender did something against the rules that caused the closure.

They reverted a lot of the clientside harmless offenders and they received warnings.

If you can’t accept the ‘‘idea’’ of companies intellectual property, their rules, and how it’s clearly written that you are treading a fence with the ‘‘risk’’ of something happening, that when it does, there really isn’t any defense in your favor that justifies it in any way.

They aren’t monsters for wanting to change the look differently in game but rules are rules and they can be enacted at any time, you kind of have to use some common sense. Just like with anything.

If you can’t understand that then we have nothing to talk about here further.
