I used the free character server transfer on my 70 druid character and while it was processing my arena partner made me the arena captain. Now I cannot log into my character, it begins loading and says “Login Failed.” I opened a ticket and the GM’s say they have reports of this issue but no current ETA on it being fixed. It has almost been a week. I reopened a ticket and the GM said, " I found we have received multiple reports of this issue and are investigating it. Currently, we do not have it confirmed as a bug so there is no workaround." What does that even mean Blizzard??? It is obviously a bug and I cannot play my main character. This is frustrating that you even allow people to transfer arena leader when they are in the middle of processing a server transfer. I couldn’t log into my druid to cancel the transfer of leadership either, so it was completely out of my hands. Does anyone know how to fix this or what I should do? Thanks, me being frustrated is an understatement.
It means that we’ve received reports from players like you that are experiencing an issue but that our QA team hasn’t yet verified it. Those reports will allow our teams to investigate what may be happening and either develop a resolution that may allow them to automatically resolve the issue, or find a workaround/troubleshooting step that will do the same.
Yes. However, that is not something that a Game Master is able to make an official call on. Until it is verified by QA it is not a “known issue”. That doesn’t mean that we don’t think it may be a bug or that it isn’t a problem, but they aren’t in a position to make that distinction.
Normally, if the transfer is canceled you should be able to log in, but that seems to be part of the issue here. The character is stuck in a limbo state where you are unable to log into it, so it is likely that we’ll need to wait until QA can complete their investigation. Sorry, Ayykayy, I know that isn’t ideal, but I did confirm that the Game Master sent up a report on your character, which was added to the overall investigation.
Okay thanks for the detailed explanation, that helped my understanding of the situation. I just hope that a correction can be found soon.
