Character clones should be offered for Vanilla, TBC, and WOTLK Classic.
Since Classic is about “preserving the experience” why force people to move to new expansion - thus, taking away the experience that we’ve come back to enjoy?
Character clone should be available for TBC / WOTLK, and certainly for WOTLK / Cata (if there are any plans to move classic beyond WOTLK, which I hope is not the case)
That and they need to have progression ERA servers so this way you can say for example level up and play on Vanilla, then when you feel as if you have gone far enough cleared all the content, whatever… Then you can select to move on to TBC, do that as you wish and then say move on to Wrath. This way progression can be had as playing the era properly.
Now this would in theory open up some exploits, SO things like honor points, maybe certain items could not be taken from one era to the next… Perhaps gold would be limited to 500 or something.
Small considerations for a real progression system.
Prior to The Dark Portal Opening I would have been on-board with this. But in less than one year’s time yall have proven that tbcc, soon-to-be wotlkc, is anything but ‘Classic’
There are no TBC Era servers, because they never promised that, don’t need it for IP restrictions, and they saw how dead the Classic Era servers are. So there’s no way to do a character clone, because there’s no-where to host it.
“Classic Era” as defined by Blizzard is Vanilla only. And they are providing Classic Era servers. They never claimed to intend to preserve Burning Crusade Classic or Wrath Classic.
theres been people asking for tbc era realms since they announced there wont be. they are just ignoring us. we must demand a response on this be for its too late
Not enough to justify the cost. Though they could probably do it, if they bit the bullet and closed some of the Classic Era or current Classic servers.
