And just as I said, it doesn’t matter what anyone says or what evidence is presented, it’s going to be ignored and brushed aside anyway.
The amount of people who are opinionated beyond any reasonable logic is nothing short of astounding.

cata classic or bust, imo.
It’s not “Legacy” content. It’s World of Warcraft Content.
This isn’t retail. Stop trying to make it that way.
you do realize this applies to you as well, right?
I’m not being opinionated.
I have yet to be presented any logical or reasonable arguments as to why buying a boost is a good thing for the overall health of the game.
The only arguments I have seen are;
“I don’t want to level”
He’s the ONLY person that it applies to on this topic.
I gotta ask. When you post stuff like this do you even realize the absolute hypocrisy in what you say? Like are you just that oblivious or are you leaning into the hypocrisy completely as you realize that you don’t actually have a case otherwise?
The amount of people who are opinionated beyond any reasonable logic is nothing short of astounding.
Yes yes you are, that’s how we know your argument is purely based on ego and what’s being hurt that already has a crack running right down the middle of it.
Post stuff like what?
this is all opinion. except what the blues post or say is happening. that is the only thing that is NOT an opinion. and the blue post stated the reasoning why the boost exists. and that is a fact. you not liking it doesn’t change that fact.
It’s not “Legacy” content. It’s World of Warcraft Content.
What are your thoughts on the thousands of players that were mage-boosted to level 60? They didn’t experience the content, play their class, or contribute anything meaningful to the game.
Nothing has anything to do with ego, stop trying to incite a flame war, just stop replying if you don’t have anything to say.
I see that - but let me give you an example using just 1 anecdote: Me.
I started when Classic came out. I got a warrior to 30 and a Lock to 38. A RL friend wanted to play with me but he didn’t have the time to get to 38 in classic but we could start together in Live so we went there instead.
I then got promoted at my job. I work 55+ hours a week. I get 1-1.5 days off a week. I have a Wife, 2 kids, one on the way, and I play OTHER games when I can.
I came back yesterday to try to level my 38 lock to 60 for TBC. Ive spent about 4-5 hours leveling today and got 1.2 levels at this point. In that time my opportunity cost was: I didn’t get to play anything BUT WoW today. I haven’t gotten to play with my kids this evening after school, and I ate at my desk playing WoW.
With my limited time to do extra stuff I have to spend EVERY minute with WoW if I don’t want to take 4-6 months to get to 60 from 38 mind you.
For ME, a Boost is a way for me to get into the game and actually play, raid, or be part of a guild. I don’t have the time to level a character and spend 100+ hours doing that, but if I could just buy a character and make 2 raid nights a week, I COULD do that.
I quit because of the time constraints of WoW classic, and you could argue maybe then I shouldnt play and go play something else (I have been).
But what gives you the right to say I shouldn’t get to play? If I went and bought a level 60 from a 3rd party site, I could do that right this ssecond and be playing, but I don’t because its not legal…but if Blizzard will legally let me do it, why can’t I?
I just don’t understand the hubris is dictating how people must play or they can’t.
Like…literally everyone of your post. Literally your post that I replied to also had many others reply and pointing out the hypocrisy of it. Honestly, since we’ve seen that you aren’t really able to make any good points against the boost maybe it is time to step away and clear your head?
My thoughts are that those players are idiots and completely missed out on a huge aspect of the game.
They did contribute to the game though. They farmed gold, stimulated the economy, and progressed the community in small ways.
he’s one of those “i’m right and if you don’t agree with me you’re illogical” people. he’s even arguing against blue posts.
even 30% less is still a big investment for a lot of people. And also does not count for the fact that said people will have 0 gold, mounts etc.
They will only spend slightly less time leveling from 58-70. A casual player may get 1 level a day? That’s nearly two weeks to reach max level. I really don’t mean to gatekeep, but if they cannot devote 2 weeks to leveling they may want to steer clear from MMO’s in general.
I am not sure why they won’t have gold or mounts after leveling 1-60. They should at least have their lvl 30 mount, yes first mount also gets reduced, started professions, and have decent starting gold when entering the portal.
Also in saying that, your point about the long slog of levelling being blown out of proportion, that is subjective. It may not be that big of a deal to you, or me, but for plenty of other people it is, and will be the difference between whether they play TBC classic, or not.
Sure it is subjective, but again, they are getting the opportunity to get a head start with the pre-patch.
No one has pointed out any “hypocrisy” at all.
The only things you guys have done is insulted me, and completely ignored the points I’m making regardless of their validity.
Not saying your opinion isn’t valid, but it could be based off isolation.
Bots exist on my current Retail server. Multiboxers exist on my current Retail server. Multiboxing Bots exist on my current Retail server.
None of that has affected me one bit.
No, I’m not.
Please, by all means feel free to provide me with some well thought out logical arguments as to why Boosts are good for the game and good for the players.
“I don’t want to level” isn’t valid, well thought out, or logical. Nor is “I don’t have time.”
