Character boost question

I understand that “the boost is limited to one per WoW Account/WoW License.” I have four accounts with one being active. If I activated one of my other three accounts and purchased a boost – is that boost restricted to the account I activated? Or can I use the boost on any of my accounts?

They are limited to the account they are on, especially with regards to Classic WoW.

Retail WoW doesn’t have that restriction (one per account) and you can buy more than one for a single WoW retail account.

So I can’t activate license two and purchase a boost then use it on license one, correct?

Editing my original post to start over because I’m slow tonight and misread what you’re asking.

Boosts are locked to the account that purchased them. You can’t get a boost on Account A and use it on Account B, no matter the scenario. They nailed this in place with Shadowlands.

Erm. Sorry. I am referring to WotLK Classic

Sorry, I just edited my initial post above you just as you responded.

But the answer is no. You can’t do that. Nor can you boost a character on Account B then transfer the character over to Account A. With Wrath, there are no account-to-account transfers, which makes it all moot in addition to the article I linked above.

One per WoW account is correct then. Activating another account will not work for you.

Ok well some folks over in the WotLK Classic server I play on are telling everyone wrong then. Because I bought into it but wanted to ask here to double check. Thank you Perl and Leilleath for clarifying.

To be fair, many moons ago (before Classic) the boost that would come with upgrading your WoW account was battle.net-wide for a few years. Meaning, you could upgrade a different account and the boost that came with the upgrade would work on any of your WoW accounts. They changed that a while back though.

As for Classic, they’ve been one-per-account from the get-go I believe.

Most welcome!

And honestly, if there was such a loophole at some point since Classic’s inception and the boosts given for BC and Wrath iterations? That is what likely led to the lockdown of keeping the boosts to their respective accounts that was specifically laid down during Shadowlands. It would have been a heck of a workaround that people would have absolutely have taken advantage of.
