Character Boost from Epic Edition forced on an already level 60 character

Hello,

I opened a ticket but was given a canned response. I purchased the Epic version of Dragonflight specifically for the boost and the game time. I made a new character (Khankun - Emerald Dream) with the intention of using the boost on him. When I went to log-in to my old main who has been level 60 since Shadowlands (Forfold - Sargeras), it asked me what spec I wanted to be moving forward. I chose Feral (was previously Resto). Then it said “processing character boost”. Why? This was not the intention.

Can this please be resolved? Opening a ticket didn’t work. I bought the game with the boost to experience a new character in the new expansion.

Did u previously buy DF use the boost then get DF refunded.

No I haven’t played WoW since like the middle of Shadowlands. Was planning on coming back from that break

I’d reopen the ticket, Tessiel. Normally boosts can’t be undone, but it cannot hurt to ask.

I did reopen the ticket, but I’m nervous it won’t go anywhere. I didn’t even have the opportunity to select a proper category, so it’s marked under “Character Undelete Problem” at the moment.

If it does get undone wont it lock the first toon till another boost is applied.

Also, I don’t see any boost needing to be “undone”, as Forfold is and has already been level 60. :frowning:

Id have opned a problem with purchase ticket then undelete,

Cool, I just opened a second ticket, US94033727, under Purchases → Not listed here. We’ll see what happens…

This may be way off base, but when you logged in to your main - did you have a note about it being eligible for a gear update?

And on your character selection screen, do you happen to have this icon available?

I’m just curious if the “boost” being processed wasn’t the new gear update system, since it carries a lot of parallels with the regular character boosts. If you have that W icon showing on your selection screen, that means you’ve still got your expansion’s free level boost available to be used.

I was wondering the same thing Leilleath.

It shouldn’t be possible to boost a charter that is already the level of the boost. The system just wouldn’t allow it.

I’m not at my computer to try it, but that would be a pretty significant bug if it was happening.

I honestly hadn’t used the gear update on any of mine, so I gave it a shot. It did give me that little “processing” triangle icon next to the character briefly and the “Character Boost” line. So hopefully that’ll be just what it was.

Leilleath, that is what happened and that’s the message I saw. I’ll check if that WoW icon is there on Emerald Dream for Khankun once I’m home. I hope so!

Edit: UGHHH that button is totally there. I had no idea it was clickable. The Processing Character Boost on the gear update threw me completely off. I’ll close my ticket. Thank you everyone- especially Leilleath!!

You’re most welcome! So happy that turned out to be the case for ya.

Also editing to add:

That is actually where you’ll find any purchased character services now. You’ll see a token up there whenever you buy a character transfer, faction change, boost , etc. They implemented that when they started selling packages of the character services - just so that you and anyone else coming back to the game has that information available. ^^

For reference, I’ve got a spare transfer available as well as my DF character boost whenever I get around to needing them.
