You cant its only 2 month sub and they did it for a real messed up reason.
There’s a study that people are less likely to just quit because they spent $20+.
It causes buyers remorse response they feel obligated to get their money worth.
Pile this on to gambler addict additions like the loot pop up window that triggers randomly even for greys and it basically a slot machine that never pays out.
Then either something is wrong with your acct or you’re in the wrong area. Just went to sub on a secondary acct. and had all three options, 1 mo, 3mo, 6 mo.
Yea. This game continues to go down the toilet. Can’t purchase your desired time cards because blizz is hemorrhaging subs, next patch won’t come out until August I bet, and the current content is ded.
My 15 years of playing the game might just come to an end.
It’s unfortunate to see that these changes will most likely impact those who can afford the change, least. Those devoted players who now work the Gig Economy as a result of the year-long pandemic, those whose income is feast or famine, now can no longer choose to select a lesser option for a month, and buy up in other months when their budget allows.
Unfortunately, this move feels like a change in policy to, “Warcraft is not for poors.” And that’s a feeling I don’t like about a company who has gone to such great links to put players first.
Just curious, having not tried it myself, can you buy a ‘subscription’ with only Battle Net balance, with no other payment options on the account? Buying a sub, then cancelling it would only work if it allowed you to subscribe without a form of credit payment.
No you can’t get a Subscription with Bnet Balance. We have never been able to do that. They prefer more formal payment methods (CC, PayPal, Debit Card). If you scroll up a bit I have a chart with all the current game time options and also the payment options for each.
Nope, if you could this whole thing would be easier to swallow for a lot of people, myself included. Blizzard requires a valid card on your file to set up a sub, even if you’ve got plenty of balance to cover it.
Thus for those who are unable to use credit cards, and cannot afford the new, single tier option, are simply left unable to update their WoW game time, correct?
Your post implies that to get the 30 day option, a player simply needed to subscribe for 30 days, then cancel once that transaction has successfully completed. Now you are indicating that you cannot subscribe without a form of credit payment (i.e. using only Battle Net currency.) This makes your post seem confusing, at best, since it is not actually an option for someone who has a tight budget to work with, or as a budget that may be feast one month and famine the next, as in our much more frequent Gig Economy, and post pandemic economic models.
I think this is one of the less highlighted issues here. I myself am not apart of the gig economy but come from a city that thrives on it and I know players who depend on it. It’s a real shame to see that they will all be impacted by this in the end.
Again, I wish I knew wth Blizzard was thinking with one more stupid move like this.
