Greetings all,
Please see below my thoughts for some future changes to Demon Hunter that I think would help DH become a more suitable and well balanced class:
Blur: Change the dodge from 50% to 20% and while changing the damage reduction from 20% to 50%.
*Also being able to use it while stunned for the condition of making the CD become a 1.30 Min CD*
(Side note: Currently blurring @ 100% health against sub rogues I can still die 100-0 during stun DR which feels a little wrong imo)
As many DHs can relate, Blur simply is not an effective defensive ability in comparison to other classes, and the output of damage in the current game.
Vengeful Retreat: Should now also include root break
While Vengeful retreat when talented can be a very powerful spell, adding the root break without the talent can bring DH to a more well-rounded melee.
Darkness: What can I say except add some damage reduction.
Darkness feels very old school gimmicky ability that could use some help as a 5 min (or 3 min with talent) defensive.
Final side note kindly consider a dual-wield range spec for the 3rd specialization for Demon Hunter. If this idea sparks a lot interest, I will happily share this in the appropriate forum!
Thank you,
Please share your thoughts below:
Sounds like the changes that would make DH finally viable in solo shuffle again. Kek

I agree, I think Demon Hunters are lacking some defensive aspects and are the primary reason as to why you don’t get many Demon Hunters in high competitive play and tournaments.
These changes could really help iron out the class
How about Dh can also attack during Netherwalk? You forgot to mention that.
Btw, trust me, Dh will have another nerf in 1-2 week.

Hey Cal,
I think that’s an interesting thought! Personally looking at that particular defensive at a 3 minute cooldown, I am perfectly happy the way that spell behaves.
Looking at other classes mage for example, we are essentially looking at our Ice Block equivalent that in essence has a lot of similarities one of which being unable to attack targets while our major defensive is active.
With that similarity, while a great thought behaves quite similar to Ice Block and isn’t quite on my radar for changes.
Thank you for that add though!
Ahem, well…
Mr. Demon Hunter, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I mean, really, 50% damage reduction on a 90s CD, usable while stunned? You want to turn one of the few possible ways to counter DH into its greatest strength. These are Torghast power level buffs.
Instead, let’s nerf DH.

Imagine thinking that 80% omnidirectional dodge with 20% dr on a 1 minute cooldown and a 50% chance to ignore all damage aren’t good enough because you trinketed air against a sub rogue

I don’t like this too much. You’re essentially suggesting that Blizzard removes all the weaknesses of Demon Hunter.
I don’t mind classes having intentional weaknesses. Which is why I think Rogue should be squishy. That class has no weaknesses rn.
DH, in my opinion, should be a squishy, fast, high damage dealer, similar to rogue, but with a higher damage profile rather than a high CC profile.
But with the current direction of the game, where every class can do everything and the S tier ones have no weaknesses, I don’t find your suggestions unrealistic. I support them.

I suppose I should have prefaced this post with the fact that these are ideas, and not necessarily all to be implemented.
These are just ideas to help DH get to be a more well-rounded class (As some defensives on DH are lacking).
Yes the comparison I am leading to is to put Demon Hunter in a spot where they can contend in some aspects to rogues at high level play.
Looking at the rogue comparison (Squishy, high burst damage in specific windows), they have very forgiving defensives, (Cloak reacting now to physical damage, and Evasion to magical).
My point being, that if Blizzard is leading to this style of play, then it needs to be for the rest of the melees too. Not just rogues.
And also a root break on a 20 second CD I don’t believe to be a game changer, but moreover balanced.
The third spec of demon hunter could become more of a support spec like augmentation. They’ve needed a third spec for a while. Maybe like using whips and being a debuffer instead of a buffer
These only make sense if they cut DH damage by like a third lol a good DH can be hard to kill.
“Proposed changes to dh”. Alright, lets give it a read.
Post starts with a dh buff, ya not reading the rest sorry.
