Game being a poke down pve mana contest is what would happen if u disabled drinking
Now it’s mostly treants and regrowth with the tree from cdr build every Druid Is running. Before lifebloom nerfs early in dragonflight, rdruid drinking was way worse with how OP lifebloom was
It’s not a terrible solution or at the very least putting a CD on drinks of like 2 minutes or so. So if it gets stopped, then gotta wait 2 mins to try again
Yes, we are. Yes, they do it every expansion (for PvE). No, it’s never perfect.
Should be able to win without drinking then.
So let’s remove drinking (and Shadowmeld).
I don’t see how. Drinking enables PvE mana contest and makes (Night Elf) Druid the best at it which is part of why they’re so successful. They don’t need the help.
…
Where is drinking happening outside of Night Elf Resto Druids that makes it such an important aspect of arena to balance around rather than simply removing it? What’s with the Stockholm Syndrome?
I think more than giving every melee ms just take it away from some of them. Dh shouldn’t have an ms, feral, fury, etc. The only rogue spec that should have on is assa.
drinking is a pretty integral part of keys and it’s only not necessary in raid because you have party/raid CDs that prevent its need (plus mana potions)
this is a silly over simplification tbh
tru let’s remove a racial and mechanic because of one spec out of 36 or however many there are now
making you come out of stealth to drink is hardly “balancing around” something
tbf you haven’t provided an argument for straight up removing it outside of “nelf and druid can abuse”
ok but one time someone melded my fear, but as a forum poster (and a sp player so x2 multiplier) i must ignore my skill issue and just demand shadowmeld be removed
Healers spot drink as often as they need to/are able to in M+. Mana is in no way balanced.
Also drinking in itself in arena is a show of it’s own kind of skill, because you not only have to make the opportunity for yourself to drink, you also have to coordinate your DPS not dying while you do it. Why do you have a problem with someone acquiring a skill and using it, in a skill-based game?
Drinking is fine, some healers are just a lot worse than others when it comes to mana. And depending on the comp your playing/ playing against you need to figure out a way to recover mana to win. However meld instantly getting you out of combat so you can drink/ being able to drink in stealth as resto druid should never be a thing. It makes the entire senario unpredicatable and hard to react to. Generally you can see and know when someones going for a drink, but with meld you can kinda just instantly force it and get a couple sips for free before people can react. Then being able to do it in stealth is completely unjustified. If they get the restealth there’s just no way to stop it unless you can yolo predict where they are and get them out with some aoe ability, But your other option is just to try and do enough damage to force them out, which is hard against rdruid if he prehotted before going for it. If drinking broke stealth it would be a lot more balanced.
