Changes between 1.0 and 1.12 to VC

Do we have a comprehensive list of the changes to dungeons over time? Could it be that many of us leveled before 1.12 and the attack values were different in earlier patches?

Could probably find it in the patch notes as far as general changes / potential nerfs

There were so many ninja nerfs to classes, content, etc throughout the years. Not everything was documented. So the patches notes, should someone dig them out, are only major bullet points.

Uh oh you said VC. It’s time to argue about DM vs VC for 250 posts…splat.

Patch notes have rarely ever documented every change so who knows what might have been done.

You’ll want to look for the changes between 1.1 and 1.12 anyway.

1.0 was the open beta client.

The patch notes don’t show any nerfs to damage of mobs in Deadmines.

Though the fact that many changes went through in Vanilla without being included in the notes means that no matter what, people who want to believe 1.1 was significantly harder are just going to claim “ninja nerfs happened”.

I think the main factor here is that the classes were buffed, rather than the mobs were nerfed.

What’s VC?

Sounds like you’r talking about DM.

Since you know, Diremaul isn’t out on release, nor are there lvl 15’s looking for DIREMAUL

The thing is that most of the buffs are going to be of extremely minimal benefit to a character around level 18, which is where you’ll be running Deadmines.

Especially in the case of the one test Blizzard did on Rhahk’zor. Nothing about the defenses the Warrior in that test was using was changed.

A Deadmines run with intent to clear all the way up to and including VanCleef.

Much like how Emp is a Blackrock Depths run with intent to clear up to and including Emperor Dagran Thaurissan.

You specify which wing of DM anyway

Whats a vc… Veracruz?

Oh VanCleef?

Maybe to the dungeon he is the boss of… you know the one, DM? You may have heard of it. Probably not. Wrathbaby and your ‘vc’ …pfft…

To be fair forum jokes aside if somebody can’t seriously figure out what a person is talking about if they say DM or VC, then the group is probably lucky to not have them in the group =P

Because they clearly lack the most basic critical thinking skills.

But there are about 5 different “runs” one could do in BRD depending on that person’s specific goal within the dungeon. A full clear would be a day long event.

In DM, no one is going in without intent to clear the whole thing.

Yeah that’s just called a regular DM run… not specifically “VC”…not neccessary to specify that.
Most if not all runs intended to clear the last boss. It is assumed unless stated otherwise.

Why wouldn’t you kill the final boss? He drops a sweet chest. So it’s a Deadmines full clear. Got it.
The alliance have a habit of only clearing half the dungeon or something? So if you’re not full clearing this low level dungeon do you just say LFM V run?
On Horde side we just kill everything. Way less confusion.

Poor man’s toilet.

LFM STT
LFM BR

Um, yikes guys.

The acronym is not the topic here. I’ve played since 2005 and the DM vs VC distinction has never mattered to anyone before. Calm down.
