Seriously, they need unique looking body models. Use the same rigs if you want, but change the body model. It looks hideous to have a Belf male and Human female when Belfs didn’t exist over 10,000 years ago.
They’re a brand new race and deserve brand new models. You created most AR to reuse existing rigs and models, then turned around and created a unique rig and model for KT. But you can’t be bothered to make a brand new race with its own starter zone into a unique model?
That’s some seriously crappy planning on your part, Blizz. And the b.s. story you came up with to try to justify those models is even worse.
Give the Dracthyr visage a unique body model!

One model I’d really like is something like Nozdormu
He’s got a night elf rig but it’s made to look like a high elf
I think that would be a nice in-between look. I don’t necessarily want a high elf, but just something that’s not copy/paste of what we already have
Plus if we got his chromatic dragon tattoos, that would just be the icing on the cake

That would be swank— but it’s still not a unique look.
The race is being half arsed, imo. They put no effort into that visage model.
Make it a full dragon form and thats it. No visage whatsoever

Male blood elves are the best-looking dudes that have ever been in the game so if Blizz wants to copy and paste them, let them

Yeah… I don’t agree with that opinion and we’ve already got two races of them.
I find it ridiculous that Blizz can’t be bothered to make a unique model on a brand new race, when they did it for an Allied Race.

They should let the visage form be ANY playable race.

Part of me hopes that every current race is a visage option … but with better customization with scales, horns, and other dragon features. Not just male blood elves and female humans.
I’m hoping their unique start zone is just then as dragons the whole time… then when they meet the alliance or horde (whichever you chose), the dragon chooses the visage form based on the races they see around them. Since a lot of races weren’t around back when they were first made by deathwing …. This could be a way around it to let any race be their visage
I just want a reason to make mine a troll…. Lol. And I can’t have troll… pandaren

I very much disagree with this. They’re an experiment where they smushed a bunch of mortals together with dragon magic. They should be unique. I don’t want to play the same damn races I already have. I want a NEW one— visage and all.

They are half-dragons by design.
They are not like the aspects, but a hybrid of everything good in dragons AND the humanoid races.

Not to mention that the races that Deathwing prolly used in his experiments were most likely Humans (being important to Tyr and thus the Dragons), and Night Elves (predominant culture at the time). So basically what we got was things with humanish bodies, pointy ears, and various draconic features. They prolly just picked the male Belf model because the male Human model is awful.
I recall hearing in one of these oh so many interviews that they don’t really choose their Visage like the true Dragons do. I think he framed it something like their Visage form representing the other half of them as a race.
Which is one of many reasons why they should have a unique model, imo.
I have zero interest in playing another damn Belf and I have always hated the female Human model.
It’s a brand new race. Why does an Allied Race get a unique rig and model, but a full fledged one with their own starter zone get screwed?

Personally, I would have liked:
True form: a 50/50 humany/dragony form to be used in all content with it’s own unique female and male models that include wings and can wear and mog all mail armor. The models wouldn’t have to be pretty just project strength and power. Think a dragonic version of worgen (but in dragon colors, no human skin tones).
Dragon form: typical or even smaller fully-customizable actual dragon to do the dragonflight mode thing as well as working the same as mounts do in the rest of Azeroth.
Neither of the current forms do anything for me. One is too weird and gangly looking and the other too much of an idealized copycat.
Oh, and pre-Sundering, humans existed but high elves/blood elves did not so neither form should be Blood Elf anyway. (For sources, see: Drak’thyr lore - #6 by Silverleigh-drakthul )
Yeah, they look like Bloods Elves that are dressed up for Mardi Gras. I hope it’s like my Worgen, where I can be in Worgen form all of time, so I don’t have to look at their Dracthyr visage form.
Female human is just as bad imo, some of the game’s worst animations lol
Should have gone with female belf as well if that was the reason, plus… Ysera and Alextrasza

Fair enough. I only knew of the male Human because my Worgen alts are male. Never really played with the female Human.
I wonder if they had already designed Drakthyr, and made the incubus model based on them even though they were released first.
Wishful thinking, prolly.
If Blizzard’s gonna make a new model- they should first work on the dragon form or a new race altogether.
We don’t need a 5th option of Elf, when the Draconic form only has ONE model because they decided to take the breasts off female Worgen and call it androgynous.
We need a mesomorphic, masculine model for people who have been waiting 18 years to play something akin to Draconids or D&D Dragonborn.

Only if it’s an option, please. I quite rather like the Dracthyr as they are now. Their Dragon model, I mean. I don’t really care about the Visage form as I don’t intend to use it unless I have to. Mind you, I do not actually mind the way the Visage looks now, too. I just don’t want to use it.

I see no reason why Blizzard would remove the option they already have.
