At the end of december, i was preparing to level another twink.
Since i had a lot of raid emblem, but no heroic emblem, i needed to exchange them.
I swear, i experienced the most hate and rage i´ve experienced in the last 5 years during that event.
How in the world did anyone ever, even when the emblem exchange dude was original brought into the game, assume it is a good idea that you have to exchange every single emblem on its own ?
I mean what are you expected to buy with the exchanged emblems, and with which amount of emblems ???
A dalaran Orange for 3 emblems?
A Kirin Tor Apple for 2 emblems ?
Or a visit to your favorit representative of the horizontal business in the dalaran sewers for 3,5 emblems ?
Nope. You expect that someone wants to exchange a substantial amount of emblems, and decided that its a good idea to force them into a useless and unnecessary chore.
Please blizzard, fix that. Allow us to have normal vendor interactions, like buying 20 emblems at once.
/script BuyMerchantItem(1, 40)
macro to convert valor to heroism badges at the vendor. 40 is the amount you want to convert, change to however much you need. Guildie shared this with us the other day, works great.
Or you could have googled one of the solutions above before getting lelheated about it.
There is also this, to click yes on the confirm box
/click StaticPopup1Button1
Right click emblem, push key where the macro is
Simple repeat
Because yes, sometimes I have 22 emblems and only need to convert 3.
Sometimes I want 50.
Just wait til you see you have to convert each step thru the emblem ranks later.
But it’s so much easier to just make a thread to complain. Takes a lot of effort to spend 30 seconds typing into google how to deal with something when it’s so much easier to just claim the game is broken and Blizz is incompetent. Gets a lot more attention.
Oops, I better be careful … I’m gonna be called a Blizz simp or whatever derogatory term people use these days.
Just because you are able to do something doesn’t mean you’re meant to.
The badges were never made to be traded in large amounts. Hense the implementation that works at the small scale.
A workaround existing dose in fact make it not a truly dumb implementation, just a dumb implementation esp when the way they did makes you spend more time in game. The workaround being there and them allowing it to be used allows those that care to do so and those that don’t still able to. While they get there all important play time metric. Remember this is the time when dailly quests took off as kept you comming back and staying loged in.
Having a ton dosent mean your meant to turn in that many at once.
I’m rather sure blizzard meant them to stay and rot. As in og wrath frozen orbs were not tradable for awhile eg when the badge trader was added.
So there was no real reason to trade down in mass. As crafters that could use orbs bought them over time vs flooding ah People would just buy the boe valor stuff to sell as nothing in hero sold.
Imagine needing to use a macro just to use a BASIC vendor function that literally every other vendor already has baked in, ie Shift-clicking an item to buy multiples.
They have the ability to buy multi of stackable ITEMS. Badges are not items they are currency. Which don’t “stack”.
The macro was made to address this problem on items pre badges such as buying multi gems or other items that don’t stack or buying items in different stack amounts eg buying only 1 when the vendor sells only 5 stacks. While also being able to buy pass stack limits on buy. All spots where the shift click function dose not work.
While I’m sure it’s easy to add it’s not something that’s already baked in.
