Change Guild Name to a Held Guild Name

Hey there!

So I did some Googling and Forums Searching and found a WoW forum post from 2012 answering this but wasn’t sure if it has changed or what not. If I have a guild named “APPLE” and also have a low level guild named “BANANA” if I disbanded “BANANA” would I be able to use the rename service to change “APPLE” to “BANANA” or is “BANANA” held in limbo for a period of time.

I don’t see anything mentioned under limitations, so I think you should be good to go.

All charcter services and a guild transfer incurr a 30 day Cooldown. I would wait for confirmation from a SFA that reusing a guild name doesn’t do something similar.

OP is talking about disbanding the guild Banana though. Not transferring or using two name change services. Guild names are freed up immediately on disbanding. OP is fine.

Also, guilds leave behind a stub guild of the same name on transfer, and that has no cooldown.

You should be able to, Haddefferke. The guild name should free up immediately once it is deleted. On the off chance it doesn’t, it should only take a few hours to update.
