And the ignorance keeps on coming. Seems it needs to be spelled out to you people.
The “$15 million” bonus isn’t just given to him. He got a signing bonus, then the vast majority of that “$15 million” is in stocks… if he makes the company a certain amount of money, in a certain amount of time. The layoffs are a result of the company restructuring. Why are they restructuring you ask? Well, do you remember when you celebrated their stock price dropping? Then congrats, this is at least partly a result of that. You wanted changes to be made. Your wish is coming true.

But if you believe taxing individuals and corporations that make over a certain money by 70% like most Democrats do won’t have Any effects on the economy I want what you’re smoking…

That’s just businesses doing what they can to make more $. It’s the nature of businesses (unless they are socialized). Maybe Canada should assert more influence on the global market? Assert itself as a nation in general? *shrug… It’s Canada though.

You aren’t picking up what I’m saying, Canada as well as many nations in the world is controlled by big US business, including the governments that are placed in power at the discretion of the underworld economy. Do you think we want Trudeau as a leader?, he’s just a weak drama teacher that can be pushed around by you guys south of us for our cheap cheap resources . Anytime we try and get a pipeline to the west coast we can see millions and billions of untraceable currency funding environmental blockades. meanwhile 80 million dollars a day in Natural gas heads south through just Alberta alone to feed your NGL plants in the gulf of Texas. You see what’s going on? We aren’t as free as you think we are up in Canada.

Wealth isn’t a zero sum game. Taking away a rich person’s wealth won’t make the rest of the country/world live better. Taxing the rich at 70-90% just means they will move to an economy that won’t confiscate their wealth; so all of the people that would have benefited from their taxes at 35% - get nothing.

Hundreds of people will be laid off. These people have family that depend on their paychecks coming in on a regular basis to stay out of the poor house.

It’s absurd that anyone would defend Blizzard giving a signing bonus of that magnitude while the company is in the process of laying off hundreds of employees.

CEO bonuses while laying folks off is a thing. It happens way to often. Another trend is for U.S. business to sell entire business units (including the people), with no option to stay and no say in the matter to foreign companies. the buying company gets the I.P. and employee talent, over time the high end work is moved off shore, and the U.S. employees are attrition-ed out, with no replacements. This IS happening.

It does but… the CEO of my company took his last large bonus and distributed it into the checks of all the employees at our company. He said “I don’t need anything and you guys are the ones who did all the hard work.”

Yes. Its easy to get confused when people state factually inaccurate things. There was no 15 million dollar bonus. It was around 3 million with stock options not available till 2020…with most of that being tied to a performance rating.

The point being made here is that someone got a multi-million dollar bonus and at the same time, the little people lost jobs.

Lets all be honest about this. If it was you in his place you would be doing the same thing. You would take the money, work as hard as you can to get those extra perks for doing a good job.
Oh and btw, if you really do not believe in what happens in corporate American you can always unsubscribe. But we all know we are all WoW junkies at heart.
