CENSORSHIP IN CHAT? Really Blizz?

there is no objective standard for masked profanity. me saying “what the fudge” instead of the real word could be considered “masked” profanity, or it could be considered an acceptable euphemism. you are allowed to say it in 5th grade during class, after all. but it’s “masked profanity” on wow? saying “oh piss off” could be considered “masked profanity”, even though you may have only meant “oh piss off”, someone might have took it another way. this isn’t a fringe rationality, this is a legitimate issue which stems from “masked” language is only in the eyes of the beholder, regardless of intent. when you say “oh frick” or “oh crap” next time, you could be reported and actioned for using “masked profanity”. people are left guessing at what is acceptable. you may not have deliberately broken any rules. but your’e subject to a highly subjective system of chance

It’s about the cumulative effect. If everywhere one can speak and be heard is controlled by corporate interest are we going to head into a corporate McCarthyism at some point.

The framers probably never foresaw a situation where a handful of powerful private interest could essentially control all the paper and shut down the press and speech by refusing to sell the paper.

If the power of concentrated private interest is greater than the state, who’s our master then? When a public utility has issues I can go city council meetings and complain, try to vote people out of office. When you have a problem with private utility it’s press one for English.

Pornography?

The short version.

your friend better not be an actor, musician, newscaster, athlete, politician or politician aspirant, or have a job, or they’re gonna get CANCELLEEED

(im thinking perhaps your friend was you)

feel free to hit the “disagree” button next time it’s presented to you.

how are the two even remotely related?

Porno? lol silly Blizzard.

Shorter lol.

exactly, we don’t want a governmental king, but if someone plays the business game well enough to be our king it’s somehow okay?

the point is freedom through a concept of anti-tyranny-over-man and anti-mega-centralized-power all around, not just government.

oh that’s funny, mispelling the short version is not allowed either. R before O.

you can also hit that “disagree” button, because you are dissatisfied with the travel suggestion markers.

the fact someone wants something changed does not mean they should not play the game. they want it chagned and improved

That is all irrelevant.

Getting mad because you intentionally broke a rule is silly.

hitting the disagree button will not let you play the game.

if you disagree with the terms which are laid out, it makes no sense to agree.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL pivot again

getting mad because you intentionally turned off blizzards filter which allows you to see profanity and then you saw profanity is silly. saying shift 8 over and over is not breaking the rules, hence when you are actioned over it you should question it and be dissatisfied. if you want people to take responsibility for their actions, then let them take responsibility around the board. if they turned off the filter (that blizzard literally put in game allowing people to see profanity) that would have blocked my swear word, then got offended because they saw it (because they took it off) that’s their own problem.

you saying issues with their current system are irrelevant doesnt make them irrelevant lmao simply inconvenient for you to have to try to respond to

How am I pivoting by being completely consistent in my view point from what I said?

Getting mad because you saw the rules and decided to break them…just so you could play the victim.

Is silly.

My first statement in this thread.

So once again. For the 1 millionth time.

If you are mad because you saw the rules, and decided “I want to break those rules”…and got in trouble.

You are silly.

yeah, it is.

it’s classified as masked profanity.

i am not mad because we intentionally broke rules, nor are a lot of people. we said we believe things should logically be changed, to which you admitted we have every right to do that, then you hopped back on your “lol u mad u got banned” comment. i did not get banned, i think things should be changed, and i want consistency. if someone knowingly breaks the rules and gets banned for it, that’s on them, but if someone turns off the profanity filter and then sees profanity, that’s on them, too. you again, conveniently refuse to address the people who turned off the filter, and i can not know why, but it’s probably because you want them to be able to play the victim. if you want to be consistent about personal responsibility, then assign them responsibility, too, for turning off the filter. you won’t say it though.

what people are dissatisfied with blizzard over is the lack of consistent standards, and like i said, being actioned for not breaking the rules. using stars is not breaking the rules, yet you can get actioned over it.

you’re not being principled here, you’re just repeating the same thing over and over, which is immaterial to what many of us are actually talking baout.
