Celestial Vendor: There has to be a better way

why is EVERYTHING still on the same vendor. separate it. I dont need cloth leather or mail on my warrior. I’d like to even see the tank/heal/dps plate on different vendors.

also, why is the august stone fragment cap at 45

im at 39 and cant afford to buy the piece i want, but if i do another dungeon i lose out on frags.

There has to be a better way, why is the cap so low

In their original post on Celestials, they said the cap would start low and then increase whenever HoF and Terrace items are added to the vendor.

This is presumably to prevent hoarding fragments prior to those items being released and then buying them as soon as they’re available.

The cap is obviously too low if you cant buy a piece you want but will overcap if you do another dungeon. You could buy an item, leave it in bags, do the dungeon and then refund it i suppose

I wish you could filter based on armor type especially since you never want to wear gear outside your class armor type. I’ve caught myself multiple times almost buying a cloth piece for my mistweaver because it had better stats before realizing my mistake.

As for the cap, it needs to be low enough so you cant hoard shards ahead of the next tier. However, it should have some wiggle room at the top so you dont lose out on shards. I would think the cap should be: Cost of most expensive item + maximum amount earned from one dungeon - 1.

Who cares?

LoL… Why?

Fair question.

:woman_shrugging:

you cant refund the celestial items, unfortunately

blizz thought of everything. the perfect way to annoy their players

the most obvious forum troll. a bit too on the nose tbh.

Also a fair critique…

fun fact you also cant trade celestial loot. like any of it, even the blues that are tradeable on heroic

How many do you get per run?

Are they a breeze to just steamroll through them?

I got like 14 or 15 from siege. Thought i would be farming for items but the 476 trinkets are pretty bad.

11+ per dungeon, not too bad

theyre pretty easy but sometimes the celestial mechanics overlaps with dungeon mechanics and you just die, like when whitemane puts you to sleep in scarlet monastery, or when gandling teleports you away and youre by yourself in one of the rooms

Wait are we really complaining about the loss of 3 fragments for going over cap lol, it’s not that big a deal. Buy a bag then do a dungeon and problem solved.

People complain about anything that inconveniences them for an extra 20 minutes.

no we’re complaining about how theres 1 vendor for everyone when there are other solutions.

How are you getting 3?

If you have 39 frags (most items cost 40) and run a celestial dungeon for the first time on a new day, you would get 4 for the first daily one and then 9-13 depending on the dungeon. Scholo would be 17 frags awarded. So you’d over cap by 11. Basically a whole dungeon worth of frags wasted. Not the end of the world but still bad design.

Just make the cap 50 or 55. It’s that easy to fix.

Edit: cap is 55 not sure if it was changed or this post was wrong

What sucks is if you buy something because you are close to cap and run another dungeon, it prevents you from returning the item.

my cap is 55 for the frag’s so they must of bumped up the amount

Who cares if you go over cap at all, at most you’re missing out on like 6 fragments if it’s not your daily. If it’s that big a deal then teleport out, spend them, then teleport back in. If it is your first one of the day then go buy a satchel for 10 so you don’t go over cap when you run one.

If you get kicked, then that’s on you for being uptight about min maxing your fragments gained per hour.

if you are that uptight about going over cap on fragments, just buy 10 VP per fragment to get to a low enough amount to “safely” run the dungeon, or buy either the satchel or JP token for 10 fragments

They fixed it already. Or op was wrong about the caps. It’s 55 right now. This isn’t an issue.

It wasn’t a major problem but a cap of 45 when items cost 40 and you earn 9-17 per dungeon would be bad design. Do you think they should change it back to 45 cap?

considering the low cap of 45 was designed specifically so that you couldn’t hoard the fragments to just instantly buy the tier pieces from HoF/ToES when they release their celestial gear, yes i do actually think they should go back to the original cap because now it means they will increase the cost of the pieces which just puts everyone who didn’t cap before they go live at a bigger disadvantage
