Honestly, I just want a way of upgrading my spoils of neltharus from one tier to the next. mine is 424 right now and i would happily spend 25 drake crests to make it champion tier because it’s the trinket with the best synergy for me and thus nothing else will ever feel or perform as good as it even at 441/447 ilvl. I mean, I COULD just farm neltharus at 11 for champion, but if I wasn’t tied to just one key it would be alot more fun.
I was about to ask for a way to get LFR appearances, but actually catalyst covers that - I just need to convert sufficiently low ilvl gear via the catalyst in order to gain those appearances.
Edit: (I can’t reliably roll on lfr gear because i’m too high ilvl. I aint about to run into LFR just to roll greed on something and hope i get it.)
Gotta say, everyone saying “sell them for gold” must be playing a different game.
They’re worth squat, you can literally get grays that are worth more gold.
valor’s implementation was dogwater and they knew it. that’s why it got reworked. The current system is a whole lot more user-friendly.
Yeah I’m all for throwing casuals a bone tbh. If a 3 week grind for an additional heroic level piece of gear keeps them subbed then sweet. More money for blizzard and more players in the game for me to interact with and sell to.
Then getting an extra 4 pieces of random gear or crafted specific pieces isn’t going to materially impact my season in the slightest.
I think the vault is enough as far as getting gear rewards from a difficulty tier you haven’t completed. If this were a thing people wouldn’t do anything over 16s and it would be badges all over again. Just pulling entire dungeons of +11 all day until you have your dungeon BIS.
They should let you do something Wyrm Crests, but that ain’t it.
System is fine. Much better than valor. CC forum ideas aren’t even worth reading as usual, out of touch and lame. I honestly forgot that train wreck even existed til I saw this thread.
If you want higher gear, run higher content. You can use the vendor to trade higher crests for lower ones if that’s what you need. Good system.
I think the emphasis on gear needs to change, and people need to focus on just playing the game and getting good at their respective classes.
Also, make healers fun!
Healing is fun, more than before.
What it seems like from all the complaints is healing was “more fun” when it was easy and the healer had minimal impact on the success of the run.
Healing is the most fun role in WoW, especially if you’re doing cc/dmg and healing burst damage. I absolutely adore it and would never main anything else! I think healing is more fun than it has been in years
TBH being able to upgrade crests wouldn’t be a bad thing. Could be score/progression based.
You have cleared X boss, have X rating, or have X score, now you can exchange a handful of your lower crests for a higher level crest.
It would also give me something to do with my many many whelpling crests.
This would also give high level players a reason to do low level keys again.
Maybe putting a max cap like 4 wyrn crests a week ( turn 10 drake stones to 1 wyrn ) max.something of a small catch up for people.
But I don’t see the point of making a banded system only to give players that don’t even need this gear to begin with.
All that’s gonna happen is more ilvls bloat and more failed keys. Ilvl only helps so much past a point and it won’t help people that can’t stay alive in an 11 when they can’t stay alive or DPS or heal properly on an 8.
No it actually shouldn’t.
I am not selling mine, my fear being at some point blizzard does make them relevant again. Perhaps a vendor that sells non power level items for lower crests. I.e. pets, xmog, mounts, etc. That would be cool with me.
I have no issue with gear bands locked behind the number of crests you can get. The issue I have is with the gear bands by key level. It’s a double whammy where we have to refarm all the same gear twice or even 3 times to get into the upper bands. I thought Blizzard didn’t want us to feel bad about having to farm the same gear from the same instances over and over again?
So the point is not a very good one?
We saw what happens when trival content could roll bis gear (anyone remember maw of souls spam during legion)
I could get behind a resource dump for all my Whelping crests. I’m about to reach the point where all my upgrades now require Drake or higher. Trading crests for Profession Knowledge would be my vote because after you’ve found all the treasures and bought all the tomes from the vendor in Valdrakken… knowledge points become an annoying drip feed.
I still say that them changing to shoehorn a one-size-fits-all approach with crests, flightstones and gear was ill-conceived and just like professions, too chopped up into little pieces that you have to deal with. There are like what? 5 gear tiers? Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion and Hero I believe. Too many. Should have been 4 and 4 types of crests.
Adventurer-Whelping
Veteran-Drake
Hero-Aspect
Crafted gear-Wyrm
And the 2 lower tiers of dropped gear having the ability to be upgraded, once they were maxed with their respective crest, to the next tier using the next higher crest to upgrade, but you’d have to do the more difficult content to get the required crests. And ALL of the crest could be converted to the 4th crest for use with crafted gear, just adjust the quantities needed for conversion rate.
EDIT - oh…and get rid of flightstones altogether. Just another unnecessary currency, and make all crests BoA.
Wait, two different games with the same strategy? So it is the same mind set in development.it’s no wonder.
