If you went back 20 years and explained the relationship and history that exists between Blizz and it’s wow subscribers, you’d never get someone to believe these people were actually paying them money every month, let alone that there are thousands of people who will defend them and assail those of us who are their detractors. I’ve never seen a company lie to it user’s more while also managing to share practically zero information. Blizz holds itself to no accountability.
No exaggeration or skewed perspective here, people would not believe it to be possible. They would ask why would someone tolerate that kind of abuse? And it is abusive, to lie and mislead, to stonewall and treat customers like mushrooms (keep them in the dark and feed them bullsh*t).
And the recent revelations about employee abuse isn’t really anything new, we’ve heard the like before. We all already know that Blizzard is a mega corporation that has it’s decisions made by unethical and unscrupulously callous people who only care about the next quarter’s profits.
I could keep on and rant a list of individual lies and problematic choices they’ve made, but like the abuses with their employees, we here are already all too familiar. And many of us…are still here.
The best of us have already quit (not me…for now) because they possessed enough self respect to not allow someone they pay money to treat them with such wanton disrespect and abusive behavior.
Madseason quitting signals the weathervane turning to me. Even if you were unaware or unsure, the future of World of Warcraft now stands before a precipice. One misstep, just one more in a long line, and it’s over. In fact to extend the metaphor and make it more fitting, the ground beneath them is crumbling. If Blizz doesn’t make some moves in the right direction and spend more money than they are making for awhile to re-invest in their game and customers, gg.
I’m going to end it there, just lending my voice to what should be a tidal wave of customer complaints. Honestly I don’t even know if there will be one, most of us are too jaded and cynical to participate or bother. I think this game will end not with a bang, but with a whimper.
Its been a wild ride honestly…I remember when I first got introduced to WoW (over 10 years ago) bliz was a company with so many good will points I didnt think it was possible for them to spend them all…people complained about game features but generally the view of the company was positive…now…oof.
How are they supposed to re invest into their game and give bobby his 150m bonus? You can’t do both. The only people with good sense are the ones that actually left when they said they would vote with their wallet years ago. The problems with Blizzard everyone has been complaining about have been here since cata.
It wasn’t always that way. Blizzard used to communicate quite a bit when TBC was current. The forums were even able to enact change or revert unpopular PTR changes. While I don’t give Blizzard a pass for going dark, the community deserves some of that blame too. People on the forums have gotten increasingly more difficult to talk to. Once you get to the point where all feedback is going to be negative, you probably stop giving it.
Your a sheep. Your a follower. You complain people give blizzard While being one and then state you might quit cause others are. Make a decision for yourself and not just follow some person who is no more special than anyone else.
BBBAAAAA
FYI I’m unsubbed and have but 7 days till times end!
I’m not asking to be believed and I’m not here listing I quit other than it’s relevant to the topic and my statement. Tbc just didn’t do it for me. Simply bored and done. I want D2 and the release date for that killed my care here. If I know I’m quitting then why not now so I did.
Tho back on point it doesn’t change that anyone’s opinion changed because a YouTubed quit is a damn sheep.
