While I indulge in the distracting pastime of leveling my Vulpera Shaman, and while the world as we know it teeters on the edge of chaos and disarray, and people’s livelihoods, and lives, are threatened; I am comforted knowing my cat, Sylveon, isn’t stressed or going hungry!
I hope you are all well, and, importantly, how are all your pets coping with this frightening event?
What a well loved kitty. These are my dogs, Ripley and Rolex…both pretty oblivious to this virus, but I have been going through something else and they have been great support through that [as many pets are].
really wish I could post pics right now, I almost can’t keep my cat off of my lap here. Anyway saw a meme the other day referencing the situation that read:
[stuck at home]
son: omg so bored
daughter: omg so bored
wife: omg so bored
me: omg so bored
dog: This is the greatest day of my life.
The two are such wonderful girls to have and they fill my quarantined life with so much color and joy. As I’ve been working from home for two weeks now, they’ve loved having me around all the time. I’m still the number 1 spot for cuddles, they both tend to fight over my lap because I’m not exactly big enough to fit both. But they’re so happy to have me around, and I’m blessed to have them.
My neighbors dogs have started coming by to see me every day because they know I’m a sucker and will give them treats. One of them is a sweetheart of a large black lab that barks at my door when he wants treats/attention.
The other one is mutt of some type, partial boxer I think and belongs to a different neighbor, but always shadows the lab. I don’t know if she was abused at some point, not by her current owners, but was very untrusting. I’ve finally gotten her to the point that I can actually pet her which has taken well over a year.
My dopey orange cat is currently camped out on my lap while I’m typing this.
She likes treats, to the point she often steals Lyra’s as much as I try to prevent it. She might be a little tubby but she’s mostly just floof; if you put your hands on her belly, your hand just disappears. First cat I’ve ever owned (I grew up with dogs) and she’s shown me what I was missing~
Yep! Nova was showing me her belly day one. When I adopted her, she actually chose me. I had initially gone there for an older cat but I didn’t click with her. And then I turned around and saw four paws sticking out of the cage at me and she was upside down. It felt like it was meant to be when I walked over and she just made grabby paws.
Lyra now flops over and shows her belly when she wants attention. She saw Nova get it when she did it, so she learned by watching. Now I’ll be at my computer and just hear a dramatic thump (much as a 8 lbs cat can thump) and she’ll just be stretching her stomach out demandingly at me.
I will say Nova doesn’t do the slow blink. Instead she does the “Oh, you’re lying on your back? Cool, I’m just going to sit on your face and purr.” I hope that also means love?
