So wondering why this is getting ignored even though its a serious issue, so I put my item into the catalyst clicked the button to turn it into a set piece and to my dismay when I hovered over said item it wasn’t turned into a set piece, yet it still took my cosmic flux, and i’ve already put a ticket in and guess a serious bug like that, that hurts progression isn’t important.
Let me guess, you put in bracers or a cape.
Was it a helm, shoulders, chest, or legs? Other pieces don’t get turned into tier.
mine was boots
Those don’t get turned into tier, merely different stats. Only pieces in the tier slots get turned into tier.
I thought catalyst was only supposed to take items capable of being turned into tier sets?
no, they kinda derped the system. it lets you convert ‘secondary item slots’ too, just not into tier. they become slightly different non-tier items.
it is likely a design oversight but the rage for it has already come and passed, week 1.
sorry for your loss.
It turns them into tier but some slots don’t include the set bonuses. The items with no bonus are to complete the transmog of the set.
I feel like they should have done a better job making it failsafe. It would have taken virtually no effort for them to put a warning for non-tier creation such as, “WARNING, THIS WILL NOT HAVE TIER SET BONUS, do you want to continue?”, and it would have prevented a lot of unhappiness.
That would require more forethought than they seem to have.
You can hover over the converted piece and see if it’ll have a set bonus or not ……
How dare you assume people know how to read!!!
yeah, but imagine if that’s the first and only piece you try. I could easily imagine people thinking it would put it on afterward…and I’ve heard people say that’s what they thought.
I feel like a lot of rage would be alleviated if the catalyst just…didn’t have charges.
“Oh, bracers can’t contribute to 2/4PC huh. Guess I’m waiting 7 days then.”
IT does turn them into set pieces. It’s just not every slot gives a bonus. You could have seen that if you had looked at the item in the preview window that pops up.
How else will they ensure people increase /played if they don’t make things so convoluted?
That would be nice, but I don’t think that’s in the cards. I think the fact that there are all these people that made a mistake just shows that it wasn’t designed failsafe enough. A written warning for non-tier creation would have prevented 99.99% of mistakes.
The preview that contained written words on the items being converted didn’t work. What more written warning do they need to give?
It doesn’t say that it’s not going to contain tier set bonus. You have to infer that from item preview and there are a lot of people who just assumed it would put on the tier afterward. There’s a lot of people who just knew the catalyst as the “tier creating machine” and didn’t even know that it was possible to create items that didn’t have tier bonus.
I guarantee you there was at least 1 person who made the mistake who is above average intelligence, looked at the preview and just assumed it would be put on afterwards. They don’t consume content outside of the game so they didn’t read the blue posts or forums. They had no tier pieces and didn’t even know that tier only was on certain slots.
A lot of people just think that everyone who made a mistake were careless, dumb, or didn’t look at the preview but I would bet money there were people who were none of these yet still made the mistake.
It was a preview showing you the item you were going to receive. That they did not check or assumed something else is their own fault. At some point, people just need to take responsibility for their actions.
