Cataclysm with #changes

What’s your wishlist look like?

My only wish is that it never sees the light of day.

Cata doesnt need changes, T11 is the best raid tier ever released.
The Cata pserver enviroment is small, so the meta is far from solved.
LFR isnt relevant, Dragon Soul isnt relevant,
Enjoy.

I won’t be playing it. That’s when playing modern retail makes the most sense for me.

In my perfect world I get a fresh server, and I start over.

Don’t think they need to change much. I’m really looking forward to good 10 man raiding. Maybe they could add something like heroic+ dungeons to keep the phase 1 dungeons relevant throughout the expansion, but honestly they don’t really need to since 5 dungeons get added after p1.

No Dungeon or Raid Finder.

  1. Keep Wrath talent trees (the 5 extra points may just help interesting hybrid builds reach dual breakpoints in two trees rather than having to fully go in one tree - Cata forcing you to finish a tree first was a mistake).

  2. Re-design some dungeon / raid fights to be less melee unfriendly.

  3. Rebalance melee vs range as a whole. Too many fights in Cata had people asking “why not stack the raid with range once we minimally have interrupts covered?”. This is a big problem. If range dps are going to make fights easy mode, then their damage needs to suffer for it as a tradeoff (you can have fights quick and time efficient or easy, but you can’t have both).

If they managed those, Cata would be worth playing for me, we’ll se what others come up with.

Go to retail if you want Cata.

This is my favorite take on the forums. Some people literally have no clue.

I would play cata if they released it, as I enjoyed original cata, however I fear most people wouldn’t.

I think it’d be cool if they released a wrath season of mastery, and they just went crazy with full on class balancing, raid and dungeon buffs, etc. I think it’d be cool to balance things in a wrath setting (just not in current wrath), nerf those unholy dks, buff ret paladin, etc.

My wishlist is to start over with Classic+ in vanilla, and the list of changes I’d like in Classic+ would take a 40 hour shift to conceptualize and map out.

since we dont have to hear anymore whinning about RDF (since it will be in there) and all the RDF haters will quit, it will be nice to have all the modern wow stuff as of today just back rolled to whatever was available in Cata at release.

IE - use the new graphics from today’s wow with all the QoL changes

Don’t try to make sense of it.

What’s wrong with my take? Are you denying the fact that WoW had changed quite a lot at the point of Cata that it had lost most of the philosophies of what made classic…classic?

It’s bad.

Cata is closer to Vanilla than it is to Dragonflight.

Cata at the time of release was my chance to restart all over (minus a few of my original chracters) and it was enjoyable.

Not sure how a Cata classic would feel. Maybe one go with a human hunter. Certainly less nostalgia than Vanilla classic.

I can’t think of any changes. It was what it was then.

lol im not playing cat. ill just go play retail after wraith is done

Wanna hear something wild? Time-wise, WoD is closer to Vanilla than it is to Dragonflight.

Cata is where the on rails questing started, making it closer to DF than vanilla. Also Cata is where the consistent reduction of talents began and the lack of content implemented started. The whole expac had three raids and one single boss raid, which is closer to the current design of retail.

No rdf and no lfr.

Keep wotlk style talents.
