They’ve done it multiple times before, the week before a patch they do a slightly LJ ger maintenance (see 2 hours today instead of 1) and start introducing things… someone forgets this week is Timewalking week and accidentally buffs them early
Here’s the rub, most pugs have a tank that think he can pull the whole thing… or dps who think the tank should pull the whole thing.
Once mobs hit hard reality hits harder
BC and Wrath are cake, they are super quick fast and easy…cata is only one that seems to be a pain
You not being a moron doesn’t stop the other 4 people from being morons unfortunately. The biggest issue with teamwork.
Yes. Just did the Uldum instance for TW and it was strange to get one shot by regular trash.
That’s not normal for TW. Not at all.
Maybe devs are punking us. Idk, but it’s weird.
I’d agree with this if I didn’t just have what the OP is talking about, happen to me.
I’m trying a new tank and I informed the group.
I was steadily pulling no more than 5 of the trash at a time, getting one shot.
No one was pulling extra or too much, but still…bang, one shot, dead.
Normally, you are correct. But this is something different.
i stopped bothering with dungeons, just do 4 bosses in bt/uld/fl and then drop and join a skip party
They seem the same to me. /Shrug
Cataclysm dungeons were the hardest of any expansion at the time, since they had actual mechanics and you could not just rush through to the end and pull everything into one group to AOE down, so people weren’t ready for them at first.
They seemed fine last night. Ran Rags than 4 dungeons. Other than the Cataclysm roster of dungeons being just dreadful, it went off more or less without a hitch.
I am always glad to hear the wonderful voice work they did on that fist boss in Lost City of the Tol’vir.
They aren’t overtuned. People just need to learn the mechanics.
People made the same complaints when the expansion came out, and that is part of the reason it was not as popular as the expansions before or some of the ones after.
I still remember healing pre-nerf Cata dungeons as a Disc Priest with fondness.
I’m not a masochist, I swear.
I saw the opposite. A level 10 Tank melted everything outdps’ing everyone even the max level players.
Yeah I thought a couple of times that some were taking far too much damage. Oh well lol
I remember being a well geared tank coming straight off Wrath. Second boss of Throne of the Tides. Void smash.
I thought I could take it.
Level 10 tanks are the next generation of warfare.
No they aren’t. I haven’t seen any problem except once when a hunter accidentally pulled a boss too early by misjudging range. Our tank DC’ed in a run earlier and I was tanking just fine on my mistweaver until he came back. Let me guess, you:
- Didn’t bother to destroy the chains on the first boss of Blackrock Caverns and just smashed your face into the boss and yelled “wtf” when everybody died.
- Didn’t run away from Ozruk’s AoE and yelled “wtf” when everybody died.
- Continued to smash face into Sylvanas while ignoring her zombies and yelled “wtf” when everybody died.
- Continued to smash face into Barin while ignoring the phoenix and yelled "wtf’ when nobody could hurt him.
- Continued to smash face into Siamat while ignoring his adds and yelled “wtf” when nobody could hurt him.
Cata has mechanics you have to do or you will die. I mean… that’s it. Nothing about the dungeons is hard if you pay attention.
Except that I didn’t notice an increase in my 5-stack of 'em today. Cata dungeons have ALWAYS been tuned harder than the other TW in my experience.
We had some deaths today and that NEVER happens. Honestly, as a healer…having something to actually DO during TW was fun, and it only happens in Cata weeks.
The only time it’s really a problem is when you get people who can’t control themselves if we need to wait 8 seconds for a rez after a pull or if you have a tank who’s never seen the dungeon before and has to learn it as we go. Everything else is just a matter of getting out of bad instead of eating it like we do with every other TW week.
I recall it was more about careful pulling back in the day. One shot mechanics were a thing as you describe but the real danger was pulling a second group on the way to Ozruk.
Damn those scouts!
