Bugs aside the game has been very good from the prepatch to now and hopefully will continue to be that good leading to phase 2.
The only things I ever hear are “my old world wah wah” or “dragonsoul brought lfr / spine of deathwing is bad”.
What are or were your reasons hating on cataclysm? It looks superior to what wrath was this time around.

Cataclysm has been great so far
I’ve been playing a sub rogue and I love this version of the class.
I’m genuinely enjoying it more than wrath and I loved og wotlk. There are just enough QoL updates to makes things feel a bit smoother, the healing in the new dungeons is difficult and very challenging, and I love flying in Azeroth. Retail feels soulless to me anymore and wrath wasn’t as enjoyable for me joining late so I looked forward to Cata and so far have not been disappointed.
Wrath was 80% hype because arthas amd 20% raid loggers
Main thing so far is the lack of Skirmishes, which I’d like to have. You could always do wargames, but that’s harder to organize than ranked, so…
Other than that, it’s not bad. It shares a lot of similarities with retail, but with GDKPs, so it’s an interesting middle ground.
When Cata first launched, I leveled a Horde toon and the leveling in the revamped world was much better than the old world experience.
The alliance starting zones in the old world had a much better flow, and the revamps to Elwynn and Westfall felt more like a sequel rather than an update. That’s where I most felt the “mah old world” feeling.
I’m trying the new alliance zones again. I’ve leveled several Horde characters post Cata, but any alliance I’ve done was with the world selection option.
I personally disagreed. But, opinions are opinions at the end of the day.
I mean, I did like the revamp for the most part. But in my honest op, I should of had the option to level in the old overworld if I wanted to at will. That would have made cataclysm so much better.
That was what was bad. There really wasn’t a solid reason in my op, to just remove the old overworld. They could have easily added ziridormie to allow me to go back to the old overworld and the revamp at will. But they chose not to. And I never really understood the decision.
Even to this day, with chromie time, it’s like. Why Can’t I just choose the old overworld If I want to. But it is what it is. I just don’t find it appealing when blizz deletes content. It doesn’t make sense to me. And it quite frankly never will.
Then it’s like, oh wow cool. Transmog. Oh wait, not cool. My favorite mog was deleted from the game. The revamp taking alot of stuff away hurt the game overall.
Like seriously if you are playing cata classic and transmog comes out and you want to transmog black defias armor and you didn’t get the chestpiece. It’s like, tough luck kid.
I just think the decision to remove all that stuff from the game, has been one of the dumbest decisions ever made in MMO history.
Don’t get me wrong. Wow is still a great game. But it was frustrating. Never being able to go back to the old thousand needles again in it’s unflooded state. And yah, there were private servers. But that wasn’t how I wanted to roll.
At least now we have vanilla era. Although I do think permanent wrath classic era should exist also. I wasn’t really that big on vanilla.
Majority of the Cata hate comes from regurgitating youtubers opinions who never actually played Cataclysm
loving cata so far, I said I wasn’t going to play much alts this time around… already leveled 9 other classes to 82 sitting back and gaining rested exp for the next sesh
I’d say Cata Classic was the worst launch and there are still 100’s of bugs. It wasn’t and still isn’t anywhere close to ready. Kinda sad that Blizz often is the one killing thier chances at success.
Please fix the Resil PvP chest enchant that does nothing. Not sure how many bug reports we need. Think a lot of people will just call it and quit if all these bugs and just stuff not working isn’t fixed. It’s actually kinda crazy how broken a lot of the game is.

PvP is trash. This game has become trash again. The (insert profane adjective) in charge are not doing much to save it. History repeating itself.
In their defense, the did have to sell their company twice. Not the brightest bunch. They got lucky with this game in the beginning and ran with it. Everything they have developed and released since OG Cata is garbage.
Phase 1 Cata blows Phase 1 wotlk out of the water, it isn’t even close.
