I loved PvP during Wrath thru Cata (love it today as well, but those were great times), and would be interested in Making a character on Cata Classic, but I’ve heard (read) that not many are playing it…
[EDIT: I just want to level thru BGs if possible…]
From what others have said, the leveling BG brackets are completely dead. There might be some action in the 19 bracket, but I haven’t tried it. There is a lot of people doing 80-84 and a decent amount at 85.
Why? Because I can! PvP’s what I love in the game. Not running from there to here and back to there…then back to here, then over there, and then, lo and behold, back to here, in Belf-land, doing quests that I did 15 years ago and that were, even then, a waste of time!
Also, I did it to see if a queue would even pop, ever. So far, nope.
I certainly can’t see leveling to 85 before I can do any PvP. I’ve always done it this way.
Oh, I mean by max level. Queues are typically under 4-5 minutes for alliance, and even quicker on horde…versus on retail they’re 7+ minutes (as a healer) for a regular BG queue.
Thank you! So what you’re saying is, basically zero pops before 85, but at 85 you get good solid pops.
Which means leveling thru Dungeons, I guess. So then that becomes a question as well. How many people are queuing for low level Dungeons? I used to know them like the back of my hand but it’s been many years…
I don’t have any experience in the lower level brackets, but yeah, I’d assume that there’s little to no BG queues popping.
I leveled a pally alt towards the end of last month via dungeon finder & it was pretty fast. Dps queues were under 10 mins, healer queues under 5. Just enough of a break to hammer out quest chains.
Right on. I Main Prot Pally, so I’d be tanking and as such, I assume I’d have very little wait time… I’ve tanked every Classic dungeon there is, and like I said, I used to know them like the back of my hand, so it’s probably a bit like riding a bike in that it’ll come back pretty quickly, just muscle memory, lol.
I had some Horde toons on Benediction but deleted them a few nights ago because it seems like there was only Alliance there…
Oh, then you’ll definitely be good to go! It’s so helpful being able to queue as all 3 role-types. Honestly, Cata has felt more rewarding than retail (to me) in terms of both PVP & PVE content.
As for Horde on Bene…yeah, it’s fully an Alliance megaserver at this point.
Right on. So now, another, somewhat related, question… with Cata Classic, is the queueing server only or does it queue you with players from other (Classic) realms?
Tanking in cata feels so good, I’ve just been levelling tanks. Got an 84 prot war, I know they’re not considered strong but they feel great to play. Got a 72 Druid, again feels fun and strong, and I started a prot paladin. I don’t really want to raid but I might just try to gear up as much as I can from dungeons.
