Just wondering what people think of this idea. I am a tank and was thinking of getting a group together and chain running Wrath heroics to get a level or two into Cata.
xp for 80s in wrath content was nerfed on original cata release, would depend if they do that again or not.
You’re probably better off stacking a bunch of quests tp turn in and moving straight into Cataclysm dungeons. You’re going to be replacing the gear so quickly and you’ll be gaining necessary reputation by getting into the dungeons early.

You should at least quest enough to get friendly with a reputation and grab the tabard before you start dungeon grinding. Otherwise you will be grinding dungeons again at 85 to get the rep up.

If you want to level mostly in dungeons I’d think you’d be much better off in Cata normals anyway. The first ones drop ilvl 308 blues.

It would make more sense to do the newer dungeons which will reward better, both in experience and items, than old dungeons. If you really want to frontload XP, you could fill a quest log with completed quests but not turn them in until the level cap is raised.
