I played it a lot back then and it was definitely way better than all previous expansions but playing it again it’s essentially a less refined retail with less to do. In fact my warrior almost feels the exact same except in Cata still have has a few annoying things like stance dancing and wep swapping
Yet all my retail friends are on it and keep citing that Mes and Vanguards are on it and whatever other streamers so it’s gonna be good and replace retail
But then I recall all the PvE gear that comes online later and I’m like ?? Streamers are just collecting their free views for a fresh expac per usual

Maybe they never played Cata.
Or maybe they played cata and it was so long ago they forgot.
Get some retail pvp on and it’ll fix things right up.
Idk I really like cata warrior, stance dancing isn’t too obnoxious. I can’t see myself playing it for too long but for now I’m really enjoying myself.
the current, side iterations of WoW are to detract you from the labor involved with balancing WoW retail in both modes.
that said, the biggest factor is WoW has to invoke interest in the upcoming generations like they did with us all those years ago so that’s where we are.
You don’t have to pve just pay people hold and they will carry you through whatever raid you need.
As much as when you got 2400 in shuffle?
Even just do gdkp runs and die early, the fights are all figured out and people will clear it for you.

No one genuinely believes that Cata or any re-released expansion is going to replace retail. Blizzard isn’t setting these expacs up for any long term stuff.
Alpha/Beta invites are around the corner, new expansion, etc.
The reason people go and play cata is because the community at the moment is massive. Its fun to be able to go and reforge your gear, or see old systems.

Cata was awful. Massive disparity in PvP brought on by PvE. S9 was okay at best. Then it was nothing but wizard cleaves with double legendaries and then S11 was RLS with rogue legendaries. The only thing redeeming were RBGs and even those were just a joke because of the PvE. If you had them, it was hilarious. Nothing like getting invites only because you had Cunning of the Cruel.

Venruki saids it s1 on cata u can be bis for pvp by only doing pvp but for the rest u need to raid to get ur bis for pvp its just a hype like wrath most of player gonna come bsck in retail in like 1 month max

Cata is just a waiting room for the next xpac for anyone who isn’t a classic Andy. It is a meme and only worth the time if you find that kind of content fun.
Doesn’t it start on last patch of balancing but not last patch of content? So I don’t think the problematic PvE items are available yet.

It’s a waste of time
Once the initial streamer hype dies down and they go back to retail, people will realize how insanely small and sweaty the classic arena playerbase is and will quit for retail again as well.

I just can’t believe people actually WANT to go back and play cata. At least with BC and CATA they were universally praised. For Cata, even the general opinion at the time was that it was absolute trash.
That being said I never understood wanting to go back and play old expansions even if the “good ones” (BC/Wrath). Obviously, I’m talking about people who played through them once already. I briefly considered playing BC when that came out…but then i’m like…I did this already. And the game had a lot of seriously frustrating problems back then. Bring in people min maxing, etc, and I’m good.

Eh even if it’s old… It’s still new for a bit because it feels like a lifetime ago. Stone nostalgia too… Combine that with the fact this season has zero new stuff for PvP and basically the same meta? You’re getting more new stuff in cata than retail right now 
Almost every way with the exception of general QoL features that are brought into the game each xpac
lol this is such a copium take, just wait until the rest of the PvE garbage comes online especially in latter seasons, arena population will nose dive. Not that there is very much to begin with any way.
