Cata class changes

What kind of changes will there be for Cata classes? I was looking for a list of changes but couldn’t find one for classic? Or will it be exactly the same that retail cata was?

As for now we don’t know any changes. They just said that H+ is going to be a thing and that they make levelling faster.
As previous Classic expansions, it will most likely stay the same (thats the point of Classic).

Probably none. In the Crix interview, they said that they believe that nearly all classes and specs are in a good place with final patch balancing.

Classes are in a really good place in Cata, as long as they use the 4.3.4 balancing patch, which im sure they will given how they handled TBC and Wrath.

They may change a few things here and there mid-expansion but nothing they announce now.

They said that for Wrath and then look at all the changes they made to it… They wrecked the Wrath classes. Ret paladins in original Wrath were super great. This version they sucked.

Not really. We’re just better players than we are now (except ret mains), and we realized that Ret always sucked, it just seemed better because the rest of us sucked at our classes too.

Apart from the actual Cata class changes there’s none that I can find but it hasn’t been that long since the announcement so the only thing we can do is to give them some time to announce their plans.

I could take on multiple 80s at the same time with my pally in original Wrath in WPvP. I tried that again this time…I was lucky even be able to kill two or 3 at the same time. So saying they are exactly the same as before? I had just over 100 days /played on my pally original Wrath. This time around. only 35 days /played on that toon for Wrath. My sham has way more. And my shams wrecks so much more easy than my pally does. My ele sham wrecks paladins back to back. Pallies were not B- to C tier last time around.

Again, people are a lot less dumb about other classes. DK got reworked multiple times over original Wrath, as did pally. I played it back then too and yeah, I remember annihilating people in Wintergrasp even in groups. But that wasn’t the final patch balance we remember. And by the time it got there, we had the gear that worked great for us so we wrecked anyway.

yeah it’s exactly what I said. We’re better players now than we were in 2008, 2009, and 2010.

People are way, way better nowadays. I noticed the same thing you did on all my classes. Back then it was shooting fish in a barrel.

Ret pala is soooo much better in Cata, man. They are absolutely S tier in the modern 4.3 meta. The offhealing is just disgusting. Cant wait to dust off my ret.

Well I was supposed to do RBGs on my ret from Wrath back in the day… but NO. My guild forced me to run using my warrior. So I got all the cool ratings on that toon… got nothing on my pally. Maybe this time around for Cata things will be different.

Ret paladins were busted in original wotlk. The fact that they are in the position they’re in now is a sign that the game got better, not worse… Same could be said for OG S5-S6 DKs, S6 Destro Locks, S5-S6 BM Hunters, and more I’m forgetting. Wrath had some of the most idiotic PVP balance of any expansion up until its later patches, where it’s still pretty bad.

Well more homogenization. Think paladin and lock get some charges to abilities and the like but as well gear is made more to the idea of intelect providing mana, spellcrit, and spellpower. Talents get squished so you end up not being able to use the hybreds which evolved in the original 3 classic eras.

People are generally not wanting cata, I have and the forums and game is just full of those who want to enjoy the greatest expansion wrath but time means they had to play casually. The gameplay is alot more like the wrath but different, most rotations are the same with an ability proc which when used will cause more damage like fury warrior slam or anhance maelstrom to make an ability instant casr which was not normally. Overall it will be fun to play due to the power creep but that’s all it was, its just power creep, once the bosses catch up to the power creep the drug will start to wear off.

No more mana was my fav part. But when Cata first came out the focus system was terrible. You run out and sometimes it would bug and not charge back up and would sometimes not show the proper amount so you thought you were at 100 when you were really at 20 or so. That was a bug but I hope it gets fixed…

My shammy bars going away… That was a bug from last Wrath…didnt get fixed this time around. Vehicles not shooting though… that was not a bug from last Wrath. That bug came in during Legion.

I made a hunter JUST to play it in Cata.

And also… you left out Boomkin druids. They were great.

I doubt you see a lot of changes off the jump. If any appear it probably start to arise around Firelands like they did with Ulduar in WotLK. Probably in the form of some glyph change that boosts an under performer as it makes a change to slightly fix something to bring them up to snuff.

How could anyone possibly know what will be changed for classes in an upcoming expansion that has only just been confirmed?
