Cat call whistle emote removed, but chestless transmog allowed

Not boycotting anything, but certain extreme political stances tend to thrive over there.

Honestly, I’ve seen a lot of players spam that whistle. It’s extremely annoying. Just like jumping on the chopper over and over. I’m happy they took it away, even if it’s just for the annoyance.

Agreed. I just argue that a single cat call doesn’t rise to the level of harassment. Words have meanings and harassment is normally defined as exceeding a single crass incident.

But, if you were cat called around me I’d definitely defend you if you were made uncomfortable and move on if you indicated you liked it.

You can still do that, though.

The complaint is that they got rid of the wolf whistle.

I know. I’m a chick so I’m happy they took it off. I like skimpy mogs but hated the whistling I got for it. But that’s just me.

Whistling is highly offensive and degrading because only a sexist pig would whistle at someone. Walking around naked while others stare at you and treat you like a sack of meat isn’t degrading, it’s self expression and respectful.

Sorry, I was thinking of my experiences with being catcalled when I was a girl.

My female characters have been whistled at even with fully covering mogs. Also, I dress really conservatively irl and have STILL been catcalled. Stop trying to victim blame.

Because that’s where all the trolls play I guess?

I’m well aware, I just try to not throw everyone in a box and stereotype everyone around me. Thanks for noticing though.

You’re doing the same thing ironically.

Unless you have some genetic defect that causes high pitched noises to explodify your ear drum, being offended by a whistle of any form makes you weak and unfit to really be taken seriously, in my eyes.

That’s my take on it, really. It’s even dumber if you think about the fact it’s kind of a compliment.

They aren’t exactly popular or mainstream. They’re all third party and only are given licenses to use their console if I’m not mistaken.

Correct me if I’m wrong though.

I sure am glad I don’t care about what you think of me

Am I also supposed to let a man grope me and take it as a compliment? He obviously finds me attractive

Well i meant in a context of being “bastion of actual freedom”.

…Umm… huh?? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

…Oh look, Rockstar games and CD Project Red just made Red Dead Redemption 2 and announcing Cyberpunk 2077, those guys aren’t gonna go anywhere.

…Yea i’m dead confused. :man_shrugging: What do you mean their aren’t exactly popular or mainstream?

I mean… Does The Witcher and GTA not come to mind on who made those games and why their insanely popular and mainstream?

I’m afraid “growing up” for them is impossible till reality hits them square in the face one day and it will hurt.

It’s a shame I have to tread carefully here. Oh well.

Also, how the heck is GTA & Witcher not mainstream? :L

I’ve had “more than a whistle” too. I’d rather neither be catcalled nor touched again. It’s just a matter of respect.

Cool, I don’t care. We’re talking about just whistles in a video game.

I don’t know what you mean by that, they made their own games. o.0

If you don’t like it, don’t draw attention to it.

Otherwise you’re just going to get people wanting to do it more.

Silencing people doesn’t make them stop talking, they’ll find other ways to make whatever you silenced them for even worse in real life.
