Casual PVPers get NO weekly Vault gear

The low ilvl base gear, yes.
And then you need rating in order for that gear to be anything higher than lfr level. In other words, a rating requirement for rated gear.

You seem to lack a basic grasp of the English language, so I’ll excuse your inability to comprehend what I said.

Cheers mate. :beers:

Lol ok. Good luck with your Shadowlands goals of earning rated gear higher than lfr level without any rating :beers:

It is work, but it’s not progression. The same goes for any other content in the game. If you queue hundreds of arenas but only stay at 1500, the rewards don’t get better. If you raid normal every week and never move on to heroic, the rewards don’t suddenly get better. Why should it be any different for random battlegrounds? No matter how many you do, you’re essentially just doing the same content over and over again.

There is very little room for gear progression in random battlegrounds because there is no progression of content in random battlegrounds.

And there is no progression for those being carried through PVE but that’s how many will be getting their gear.

The vast majority do the content but go ahead and be dishonest to fit your weak narrative

I’ve had time to think it through and there should be a bit more incentive for random bgs players

What Ilevel would you propose?
Lfr?
Heroic!
Mythic?

Because honor gear is the only gear that isn’t viable for the content that it’s earned from.

This. A thousand times this. PvErs don’t have to deal with random mythic raid bosses showing up in their LFR.

Random BG gear caps out at like 415 now? IDK what that is after the squish, but doing PvP with that low an ilvl has got to be horrible.

That would be like doing a raid where unannounced a boss showed up with twice the health.

“Incentive” to do what once they’re locked out of the gear they would need to move up?

Those are PVE terms, and this is why we are in this mess of a gearing system.

WoD had anyone eventually earning BiS conquest gear. Unrated play got the gear slower so rating still had a (small) gear advantage right up until the end of the season.

Seemed to work really well for rated and unrated alike.

BG’s are fun, but they’re really just casual side content. If you keep treating them as serious content and expecting competitive rewards from them, you’re just setting yourselves up for more disappointment.

Unfortunately, it seems that Blizzard’s experiments with different systems in WoD and Legion have given people unrealistic expectations for random battlegrounds and gear. You’ll have to adjust those expectations or move on.

I disagree. I think beating a preform with a pug is somewhere between casual and rated, and probably closer to rated difficulty because you’re at a competitive disadvantage.

On the flip side, going into random BGs with a preform is on the lower end of difficulty. I don’t understand why preforms are allowed to queue into pugs

Those “experiments” before Legion were actually how the game was for most of its existence. I would say the experiments are the “gear is gear” model in Legion and BfA and now SL.

The problem is not players’ unrealistic expectations of gear from doing unrated PVP. The problem is Blizzards’s unrealistic expectations that there is some sort of achievable parity of PVP and PVE gear.

The “gear is gear” experiment needs to end. PVP will not be able to thrive as long as they continue down this road. PVE will always be a better and faster way to gear if “gear is gear”.

It’s ok arena players are really happy with these changes and think its great!

His entire video ignores ALL the issues people have with this system. it’s disgusting.

The minority of hardcore players are the only people being heard. This game is being designed for an extreme minority of players. It’s time to play another game, casual pvpers. You are no longer a supported player base.

He makes fun of us casual pvpers, too, in his video. “We don’t understand the system” “we’re a small minority of people” “We just complain to complain”

What a joke. Was this guy pad by Ion to talk up his new trash PvP system?

there is an active campaign on reddit too, any kind of dissention or bringing up this issue is met with tons of downvotes and comments about how casuals can unsub, get lost, or are not worthy of gear anyway.

Link please.

Also, I’m sure these “hardcore” players will love having a game infested with MTX and pay to win mechanics with nearly zero in game rewards to compensate for the MASSIVE loss of the casual player base.

Casuals pay the bills, hardcore players are irrelevant to the games life.
