I’m not one to leave a battleground, ever, unless it’s a turtle and I have things to do in real life. Over the course of a month of pvp’ing roughly every other day, I’ve only won approximately 5% of the games I’ve queued for(it seems).
There are several factors involved here:
One team has more players wearing green pvp gear, or pve gear
Players not contributing to the match
Players leave early
Players are afk
Can we get a new queue system where players must agree not to leave the match before they queue and where ilvl is matched evenly? Those are the two largest contributors to a loss.
Edit: In case it’s unclear, those battleground results are completely one-sided.
Queue times in this game are a joke. There’s no reason for them with todays technology.
Bethesda developed server merging software for Starfield, for example.
Not to mention, you’re potentially losing time anyways when the match isn’t fair.
Blizzard seems to be against creating a fair game. Who here wants to lose because the current queue system started their team off with players who were in all greens and the enemy team has full conquest gear? Does that make sense?
Explain that. Do you mean players who tell each other to queue at the same time? What are sync cheaters?
Well, if I’m wrong about that then I’m wrong. I’m going by my knowledge from several years ago when there were battle groups.
However, that doesn’t change the fact that you are still waiting in queue to potentially be unevenly matched. So, regardless of whether I’m right or wrong, the current system doesn’t serve anyone except for the ones it favors which is a disservice to the game.
I agree. Starting a match without a healer is almost always a loss. Not to mention that having to throw 2-4 damage rotations at a single healer to kill them in order to capture an objective is ridiculous. That’s a lot of wasted time for shorter matches.
this issue has been rampant and causing issues in all aspects of the game. Less emphasis on burst and “goes” and more on well paced rotations that allow for engaging back and forths. this burst and the meta now surrounding it is why healers are out of control because its the only way to catch back up with how fast a single player can delete chunks of an hp bar.
Slow combat isn’t rewarding combat, though. I recall that during warlords of draenor or legion that combat was very slow. 1v1 battles took like 2-3 minutes.
second id say too fast is just as unrewarding for both sides. one side just wins in 5 seconds while the other just loses with no real ability to fight back or counter. and this is the current meta we are in. I am not saying TTKs need to take 5 minutes but WoW is an MMO and not an FPS. Kills should take some back and forth and effort.
BFA actually had good pacing, maybe a hair too fast but not awful except healers were unkillable un-oomable gods that made everything take 7 years too die.
Problem for me and it is becoming aggravating is that I will queue up for a random battleground and notice that my two healers don’t have a single piece of PvP gear, not even honor. Then I inspect the enemy healer and they are practically in full conquest gear. I was in groups like this at least 6 times last night, problem really isn’t the system but the fact that people don’t want to be told how to play.
For example, if a player queues battlegrounds from 67-70 they will have enough honor to at least buy a full honor set. Most at least Horde side don’t do that. Point is it isn’t pre-mades that are the problem it is the lazy players that don’t bother to gear up and queue battlegrounds with 424 questing gear and expect the rest of the team to carry them, like for me it is a form of griefing.
I agree with you, Blizzard should never separate brackets according to gear. The problem is people that are to lazy to save up honor as they level in order to at least have full honor gear when they reach level 70.
Last night I was in groups with players that literally had 392-424 item level quest gear, it is down right depressing. For me after the 6th group like this it got to the point that I had to log out and go outside. Good players will always be prepared and lately on the Horde side that hasn’t been the case.
The only time I queue up with players with conquest gear is when I pre-made with my friends, if not it is players in 392 item level gear expecting to do what?
No, I am not wrong. If you queue random battlegrounds from 67-70 you can accumulate enough honor points to buy an entire honor PvP set, I do this on all my alts. But it is laziness, anyone who queues battlegrounds with 424 gear is being lazy. And yes honor gear isn’t as good as Conquest but personally I can still hold my own. And having honor gear enables me to queue BGB and get conquest gear. My hunter has been level 70 for two weeks and already has 5 pieces of conquest gear.
You’re trolling. It doesn’t sound intentional, but you’re trolling.
No one is going to delete their main toons and create new ones in order to farm honor. That’s delusional. Edited: No one is going to farm lower level battlegrounds to farm honor gear. You’re saying that people should have alts in order to gear their mains. While that does work, it’s not feasible.
If you’re implying that you can survive a battle against someone in full conquest gear:
Again, you’re being a bit delusional. I’m not saying that to demean you in any way. No one in this game is invincible. I used to duel gladiators and win. I’ve defeated players who were rated 2800 in 2v2 and 3v3 in duels when I only had a 1500 rating in pvp. So I know that rating is mostly a meaningless concept.
Conquest gear is just far superior to honor gear. It’s a mathematical truth, not an opinion.
Only winning 5% is insane. I am willing to bet that isn’t right honestly. Even characters I have with bad win rates it’s still 30% or higher. Usually gets better than more BGs I do will them.
One thing I noticed is the Epic BG matches. Sadly that bracket is over run by queue sync communities so lopsided matches happen a lot. Those aren’t a good gage. But in BGs you have people of all gear levels and skills so lopsided matches are more likely to happen. Green gear is less of an issue imo but still an issue especially as the season rolls on. But as someone will A LOT of alts with a lot of green gear I still can do ok. Depends on the class sometimes.
Well, when I queue for casual pvp for 2 hrs straight and I only win a single 2v2 skirmish, then it seems as though I’ve lost 95% of the games I’ve played. (I did sayI haven’t documented my wins and losses over the past month or so, but the majority of the matches I played ended in losses. If I only win 1/10 matches, then that’s still only a 10% win rate.
My complaint and the reason for this thread is to highlight how ridiculous my experience has been. I’ve lost the majority of my matches and they weren’t even remotely close to being even.
