I still do not understand why casters have to stand like a vulnerable target dummy to cast. Mele can strife and pound on each other and casters. Mele have many gap closers and LoS tactics. It is absolutely time to change this long overdue process. Majority of other games don’t limit casters. This needs to be updated.

Because we can blast people from 40 yards away and melee have to be ontop of people to do damage.

Bruh if mages had any more mobility I’d hate them more than I do and I can’t hate them more as is.
Not like locks lack it either with gateway and port and curses…
Besides, you literally have the benefit of not needing to be in melee for damage (yes I know ret is psuedo melee now).
If you’re 40 yards away, you can do full dam and I’m sol without los or defensives.
Edit: plus arenas like mugambala where a lock can gate and port up and down and wtf is a melee to do then.

Lie, locks also have it pretty easy on some maps for sure too.
In a lot of movies and cartoons, warlocks and mages can fly. Why not WoW? Just sayin.

Sounds like you should play BM hunter. Damage is done from the safety of range and they can do their damage rotation while kiting better than most. Ranged specs use CC and a variety of movement abilities AND some are also more tanky than you would expect someone to be wearing cloth.
The real question should be, if a Zug Zug reaches a cloth wearer with their 150lb sword and swings it through their neck, why is, not only their head still on their shoulders, but also the healthbar didnt change?

Not sure if we are speaking Battlegrounds because there is not a load of LOS can happen in randoms. A few BGs yes if you are smart, but it’s pretty limited.

You think casters have it bad in WoW? Try playing an oldschool game like DAoC where not only do casters have to stand still, everything can interrupt their casts!!!
I’d still be playing a caster in DAoC right now if it weren’t for how overpowered stealther classes are. They make playing a caster the most miserable experience in any MMORPG I ever played.

Casting bullet is pretty fun, especially from seventy yards away or close to it. But for MM there is counters in BGs. To kill an enemy MM a few people need to make that their goal. When MM is found, if focused, their damage is quite limited Vs more than one enemy and kiting on MM is not the greatest. MM traps and disengadge only does so much if Zug Zug catch up to you then it may just be a waiting period to die in turtle, which is fine with me. Counterplay should exist for every spec. The strength of MM relies on enemies that choose not to walk past your team to get to you or your team actively preventing the MMs death through peeling for it. Having way more fun on MM now than I do on my long time main Ret. There is also a lot of MM hunter Vs any hunter in BGs I see. Hunters fighting/killing eachother first to feel safer after.

casters have precog … for locks that means an uninterruptible Chaos Bolt to the face , yes?
I agree. I boosted an MM hunter and decked it out in PvP greens. No idea what im doing but the bodies pile up and it’s great.
Also sniper duels are surprisingly fun. It’s a game of who can dodge the other guy’s sniper shot. If I see another MM targeting me with Sniper Shot, I Feign Death or Scattershot and uno reverse them.

I make it my personal MO to seek out and destroy mm hunters in order to help the team. Seems to work quite well

Being slowable outside of Blessing of Freedom and bubble, while both of those can be removed early, Rets are probably my easiest target. DO try to kill MM, but bring your friends to help you.
