As the tittle says im interested to see if we can make this a real thing. Druids are getting dynamic flight which means they will be able to dragon ride from a fall… Being a dragon should we not be able to do this as well? Like and comment to get some traction on this! Lets go Evokers !

I’ am thinking we cast soar just like druids cast flight form. I do not see any reason why we cannot do this. I don’t want to glide down anymore I WANNA DRAGON RIDE AS MY DRAGON while falling! LETS GOOO ! Obviously in combat you won’t be able to soar away!

Shouldn’t even need to cast soar, you should just automatically transition into a dive and soar while falling, change my mind.

Being able to use the button while falling would be great, but I feel like they are married to the cast time for some reason. They just really love that “launch” animation so someone made the hard choice to have it be mandatory.
We will never know the inner workings of dev design, but we can rest assured, it isn’t because it should work how everyone expects it to. They have to put their little stamp on things. Make it stand out so it can be pointed to and everyone can be like “Oh ya, that was X. X did that.”
I don’t hate the launch, but it doesn’t need to be there, nor does the cast time, or the cooldown. I appreciate they started the irrelevant cooldown after the ability is used rather than after landing, a small concession that I feel is emblematic of them being worn down on just, doing the right thing.

Considering you can count as falling after a jump, automatic transition is too much. Also instant cast flying mount is primarily a druid thing.
Since we can glide regardless of visage form or not, rarely would we end up in a situation where we would be falling and need to mount since can still glide safely to a landing point and soar or mount again.
Also remember, Evokers have tons of ways that they can travel while mid-air with surprising amount of control even when not soaring/mounted. Jump-glide-hover-glide-hover-glide-Time Spiral-hover-glide-deep breath can traverse from the roof of the Valley of Honor auction house to the roof of the Wyvern’s Tail without touching the ground.

I see no reason to make it instant cast. All it would need is to make soar cast while moving and this could happen. It would then not take away from the druid special instant mount and everyone wins.
If updating the animation would be an issue, people who like the animation can always stand still to cast it.

You realize that the visage form is just a magic veil right? Its just an illusion hiding our true self. The wings are still there…
