Why are you assuming it’s not already? I would be frankly shocked if most developed countries didn’t already have people working on this. Do you not think the US in particular would love to be the first to come up with one so that we could then sell it at a premium to the rest of the world? Because that’s probably what would happen. We’re all about money, after all.

It’s important to know how different people are today than they were back then.
I’m not assuming that it isn’t. Of course money is being used of vaccine research as well. The problem is that no one I know is giving the public any sense of a plan. No one is telling us anything, really. All we’re told, daily, is that the Coronavirus is bad and that we should stay inside.
Personally, I don’t care who develops it even as a U.S. citizen. It would, however, be financially beneficial to be the ones who sell the vaccine. That’s just common sense.
I mean, yeah. I guess? While I mostly agree that we’re ‘all about money,’ I also believe that money is good.
I imagine that’s all they know so far. Manufacturing and testing vaccines is a long process. I’d rather wait until they know for sure they have one that works, rather than getting our hopes up a dozen times with false promises.
How many of those cases are from assisted living though centers?
You’re not helping your argument with the ad-hominem. The Virus is a serious problem, but you can still advocate that people need to be allowed to start getting outside again if they’re healthy and capable. We’re all having to make sacrifices here and it’s even being made apparent in my city that people are getting kind of tired of being inside as I see more and more people out.
I took some lumps complying with the lockdown, though nowhere near as hard as others have and dismissing those at threat from the Wuhan Sniffles (as I like to call it) doesn’t help. But I don’t like it when the opposing side also dismisses the people that just want to be able to have a chance at returning to having a livelihood again. There is nothing wrong with people longing for a return to some semblance of normalcy.

Implement greater government control over the remaining population, removing freedoms, and all resulting in a one world government.
Look up what the Bush’s have said, Obama, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, so many music and film stars, etc. They’re all pushing for this. Also look up the Georgia guide stones.

I sort of agree. At this point, it doesn’t do anyone anything good by spreading more fear. It doesn’t help to be vague. Local governments should be giving people hope. You can’t be hopeful if you’re sitting inside while slowly going broke.
Whether or not they know more doesn’t matter. They can still produce a plan. Opening things up again is the start to that. The rest of it isn’t up to normal, every day people. It’s not up to us to produce a vaccine, but we should be able to go outside, work, shop, live, and do all of those things by our own free will.
Those who are scared will stay inside. The rest of us can be happy again, and live our lives.
This country and other countries have survived disease and viruses before. America never had to shutdown because of sickness. This isn’t the black plague. This isn’t wiping out hundreds-of-thousands of people a day.
Did you know that people, even during the black plague, were allowed to go outside and live life normally? People still had jobs then, too.
Then Covid breaks out and the whole world goes into shock.
Do people need to visit the freezer trucks with piled up dead bodies of people who have died because hospitals have no other place to put them right now? Is that what it’ll take for them to believe?
Are people this disconnected and apathetic?
I think it’s only really that bad in the USA, I’m pretty sure it’s exposing your county has huge social issues that are beyond confusing to the rest of the developed world
I don’t think anyone is against the ‘belief’ of Covid. I think you’re messing with yourself a bit.
I don’t think that’s a fair outlook of the opposing viewpoint.
Loss of life is tragic yes, but there is a point where you can’t keep people contained because doing so is just as bad. Fact of the matter is that we always face the risk of disease and risk is something we have to live with.

We did not just miss it, we did it totally wrong! They just threw decades worth of virology out the window, including decades of covid virology. Because we are not just protecting the Vulnerable populations, and letting the virus run its course to build immunities throughout the entire population like we have every other virus, the collateral damage is going to be far worse.
The number of people that will die from non covid will be 10x, if not more the amount of people that have. Im talking about people needing so-called elective surgeries, like stroke, heart attack, cancer biopsies, cancer surgeries (like the one my father in law has needed since MARCH), people not going to emergency rooms because of the HYPE, suicides, depression, and deaths from poverty. They will DWARF the covid deaths!
There has never, in the entire history of any covid virus, been a shelter in place, or lock down! There is NO SAFE WAY to reopen, period, because they disrupted the natural cycle!
It’s almost like we’re primates or something…
