Careful when creating a new character with a randomized name

I got a two day suspension because my auction house alt had the name “Warmar”. What the heck is a Warmar you might ask? I don’t know, it was a randomly generated name. Blizzard suspended me for choosing the name that was suggested to me with the random name generator!

What happened to it?

So while I supposed if your name is offensive enough you could get suspended, most people whose names are reported are simply forced to change their characters name. For individual warnings though I know several people that it has happened to, and it really wasn’t a big deal, now none of their names were that bad, but most of the time they didn’t care, the one time the person did care, they appealed it and were able to keep it.

Either way, it looks like in your other thread you have received additional feedback and that the violation was likely for something else and that the email you sent was simply provided the wrong reason, which makes sense, as this isn’t usually a penalty for a naming issue, especially since if that name really violated something it would be pretty obscure, so making an appeal, and a post to the other forum was probably the correct action to take.

“The violation is from something else” is such cope. You can be mass reported and banned for anything.

Just a case of copy pasting the wrong template in the email. Violation is for toxic chat, but the email template used was the inappropriate name one.

I was very recently banned for four days because of the name “Çutiesncream” which is actually my alt, my main on Classic Fresh is named “Cutiesncream”. I’ve submitted a ticket, but my hopes are not high that they will overturn it or even give me an actual human response.

so did they refund the 2 days and say sorry. Or was it just a bad GM

never has happened lol

isn’t mob rule awesome?
