Cant use the mage tower portal in stormwind

tried reloadui, relogging, restarting computer and abandoning all my quests.

Tower in Stormwind not letting me in to the portal room

Worth noting this is a freshly boosted 120 from shadowlands pre-order

It sounds like you are phased. You may need to figure out what quest phased you, pick it up, and complete it.

I am having this exact problem as well. I also cannot turn in ā€˜And End to the Killingā€™ in the war campaign because King Wrynn is phased in Stormwind even though I have no quests to phase him.

Did you happen to find a fix yet?

If NPCā€™s are missing and you donā€™t have access to the portals it often means you may be midway through a questline that changed the area.

If you boosted this character, I have seen some issues where the boost didnā€™t properly flag a couple of quests and they are not obtainable due to the phasing. In that case, if you donā€™t have the option to reopen your ticket, Iā€™d recommend putting in a ticket under ā€œStuck on Questā€. A Game Master should be able to get those flagged for you so you can continue.

Be sure to mention that you are not currently on any of the quests listed in the previous response and no quests are available to you.

Maybe youā€™re partway through the questline for the Night Warrior? That takes Anduin off to a room to the side. You could check if thereā€™s a quest in there for you.

I had that issue on one of my characters, and when I accepted the quest, I was able to see Anduin in the throne room.

I just had this happen to me while in a horrific vision. I tried walking through the teleporter to get to the throne room to kill the boss there, and I just walked straight through it and it wouldnā€™t take me to the portal room. Super frustrating.

For anyone still having this issue, try talking to Chromie in Stormwind/Orgrimmar and activate a timeline (e.g. dragonflight). You may need to select other timelines to get access to their respective portals.
