Can't Undelete Character for Name

When I try to restore a character, I receive an error message saying I already have an active character with the name so I can’t undelete, but I don’t have another active character with that name.

Do you know if that character name is otherwise in use, Christmasday? Can you give me the name of the character?

I tried to send a message to the name but the recipient wasn’t found, so I assume nobody else used it.

The character name is currently in use for the Alliance. You’ll want to submit a ticket so a Game Master can help.

Full disclaimer: Forum did not allow a double post so I used a different character. There might be a duplicated message from Christmasday when I post this.

Okay so I got my toon restored. They did it manually because the reason for the error is still a mystery, as I had no other toons on my realm, or any connected realms, with the same name as the deleted character.

The thing is, when I tried to restore another character, I got the same error message, but I was able to restore a different character on the list without issue. Should I submit a bug report so I can pitch the problem directly to the QA team? Or is that not necessary because I already had a ticket processed on it?

Weren’t you trying to restore a character with the name Subjectzero? That name was in use on Darrowmere as I mentioned before. It was someone else’s account, not yours.

I imagine it is the same situation, someone else is using the character name. Which is not considered a bug.

It is a limitation of the system that you aren’t automatically flagged for a rename if it’s been over 30 days, which is why we recommend that you contact Support in these situations.

Edit: I see the confusion. The Game Master who answered your ticket indicated there wasn’t a character of that name on that realm. There was, when I looked. It is likely something happened to the character.

Oh, I see. I was unaware of the 30-day flag limitation. The application was basically accusing me of being the owner of the names in question. Thanks for clearing this up.
