I just tried it on a level 72. Went to Org, got the starter quest, spoke to the other guy, skipped the Maw, got sent to Oribos in the faded view, NPC was unclickable. Had to log, and no option to do the ToF. So yes, that does seem to be a sticking point, at least for me.
Yeah, Iâm sure itâs not intended given the Fatescribe interaction is just broken. I did just enough of the quests to access the flight master in Oribos⌠so Blizz, if you add a skip, please do it like TWW where you can skip the campaign even if youâve started it :')
Just happened to my mop remix DH as well. Skipped intro via Bolvar in Org, sent to Oribos, waited for NPC to approach me and ⌠nothing. Waited for about 5 minutes and still nothing. As soon as I clicked /logout, that sealed the my characters fate in having to do the entire campagin on it, with no further options to skip.
hello!
i was having this issue and was about to punch a hole through my monitor (metaphorically speaking) thinking about having to do the veânari/torghast/runecarver intro quests. i also had a character that got the ZM skip and logged out, then when i went to sinfall, i had no âi already know my way around the sanctumâ dialogue. bricked to completing the covenant campaign/torghast quests to unlock korthia.
i believe i have found a fix/workaround. switch to a different covenant! i was able to switch to kyrian, do the little opening quest, then once i was at elysian hold, i had the âi already know my way around the sanctumâ option and was able to get all my soulbinds, after that i headed back to oribos and bolvar had all the skips for me. i was even able to switch back to venthyr and things were skipped like they were supposed to be.
hope this helps anyone else who comes across this issue and finds this thread!
This is exactly what happened to me. Skipped intro from Bolvar, got sent to Shadowlands, TalâInara stunned me and turned everything grey, and⌠nothing.
The game essentially froze. I was stunned, he did not offer any dialogue options, and logging out and back in was the only thing that gave me control of my character again.
However, doing so meant skipping the Threads of Fate choice. I went through the intro part until it said âHey, go to Bastionâ before realizing I was trapped into re-doing the campaign. Nope.
For what itâs worth, I was on my 80 Evoker that had not done SL before, but had been to SL for M+'s previously. (I donât think I had ever been to Oribos).
This is identical to what my evoker went through when I first took her to Shadowlands during DF. I hadnât tried it at all before I hit 70 on her then, and âbeing level 70â was the supposed workaround people said allowed them to use Threads of Fate.
But based on Blizzardâs statements regarding its removal for characters created after the change, my evokerâs experience fits being a âworking as intendedâ scenario. Fatescribe Roh-Tahl in Oribos still has no option for her, and so I cannot visit Zereth Mortis without being summoned or spending time completing the full campaign.
Exact same issue here.
Planned to do some Shadowlands raids on my level 80 MoP Remix characters and was able to successfully skip the Shadowlands introduction quest in Stormwind.
When I chose to skip the intro (as I did countless times on other alts in the past) I was ported to Oribos as expected. But there I was frozen in place in front of Fatescribe Roh-Tahl (screen turns grey), unable to perform any action indefinitely. No inputs, no skips, no exits, nothing.
The only way to escape this state is by logging out and back in, which automatically (and permanently) tags that character for campaign mode. This means you have to finish questing through all the Shadowland zones again.
In the past you had to enter âFATEâ to enter Threads of Fade when coming to Oribos and meeting Roh-Tahl for the first time. This is simply not an option, because the game literally wonât let you do anything once you choose to skip the intro in Stormwind.
I donât know if this is a bug or intended, but I have to say, there is simply no way that Iâm gonna repeat all the campaign questing and unlocks on each one of my new alts again in order to be able to access the Maw, Korthia or Zereth Mortis (which Iâm currently unable to travel to on affected characters).
I went through that unlock process on multiple alts during Shadowlands already before most skips were even available and it is simply put nonsensical that you are unable to make use of the Threads of Fate skip on max level characters when you already completed all of these steps in the past.
Please consider offering a better solution for max level characters on accounts that completed the campaign in the past and/or unlocked Maw/Korthia/Zereth Mortis before.
This ainât it.
My Fiance had the same exact issue. Did everything as told (skipped the Maw on a level 70 character that had never been to SL before), got the grey screen⌠and RohâTahl had no option to choose Threads.
Clearly this is a bug, as the greyed out screen and locked interaction implies itâs trying to offer Threads and the NPC just isnât working. That said, the fact that all characters that have touched SL at all or not followed the exact right steps to get Threads are locked into doing THE ENTIRE campaign to access SL content is⌠really bad. I want to do so much stuff in SL and just straight up canât because I would need to do the campaign a billion times.
I am having the same issues as everyone else and hoping for a fix soon
Shadowlands wasnât removed as a Chromie Time option. It is still there?
Yeah I worded that wrong. I meant to say DF is the expansion that new players are funnelled into automatically, not Chromie time.
No, its still available. The fatescribe is across the way in oribos on the ground level. Like on the opposite side of the ring you spawn into when you just get out of the maw.
You may, or may not, need to do some manner of quest syncing to get him to offer it though.
78 50 in oribos
Itâs gotten even worse now. Talk to that creepy emo fire man skipped was sent to oribos. Guards stand there looking at me but no quest or option now. If I speak to the Protector Captain all they say is âWho are you, stranger?â Nothing else there nothing to click on in the city. My chapter log in maps displays nothing I have no flight master so I cant go any where in Oribos.
Bumping for a hopeful response - I dont want to do the campaign again and wont do it again on all my alts I wanna run Tmog runs on.
I didnt know about this bug - had a freshly leveled 80 - attempted the skip and I got ported to Oribos - no grey screen and no one showed up for the Fate/campaign skip. Attempted to jump down into the Maw. Fell - got ported back up and stunned.
Attempted this on my level 61 warlock, skipped maw and cannot get any quest in Oribos.
My level 70 DH, which I attempted to this skip on prior to the hotfix now has to do the actual intro to Oribos with no option to skip at time of posting. Time to see where this leads.
I swear if Blizzard outright removed âThreads of fateâ for fresh level 60+ characters with thisâŚ
yeah looks like by Demon Hunter is stuck on the campaign.
Thanks Blizzard.
I boosted a character with the 70 boost from purchasing TWW, leveled to 80, and took her to Oribos via the portal in Org. Didnât get any quests available, no Fatescribe.
They already did this at DFâs launch for characters created after the change. Itâs been talked about earlier in the thread. Players who met specific criteria (aside from already being in Threads of Fate) were able to access it, yes, but that was never confirmed as intended by Blizzard and it seems clear with the recent changes that they were cleaning up that bug.
It is really stupid though to force us to do the leveling camapign for every single damn character we have if we want to do Shadowlands content on them. Such as getting access to Zereth Mortis and SotFOâs to get appropriate ilvl gear to use the cataclyst to get appearances that are locked to that damn thing.
Most expansions that have, âmust do X to get to Yâ are skippable once you have done it on your account at least once. Such as Legion, BFA, Dragonflight and TWW. Seems Shadowlands is the only expansion where Blizzard does not want to give us those quality of life changes.
Probably as punishment for all the negative press we gave it.
If Threads of fate was inaccessible to toons that can still level in Shadowlands content via Chromie Time (i.e. level 10-70) then I would be fine with that. As clearly Blizzard does not want Threads of Fate to be the leveling path for that. Probably due to how little content there would be in the long run. But toons that are beyond Chromie Time should be able to skip the leveling campaign altogether.
Blizzard screwed this up by putting the âskipâ in the same place they originally offered the Threads of Fate leveling option, which is in a special one time only phase that is supposed to trigger when a player completes or skips the SL Intro (Maw) questline.
They need to just put in an NPC (all phases of Oribos) that offers a simple âskip it allâ option that auto completes the entire level up campaign, opens all the portals, and lets players select a covenant.
Itâs utterly moronic to have the ability to skip so screwed up that many players end up phased or glitched into dead versions of SL (no quests offered at all, no skip nor campaign) or stuck with the game trying to force them into the level up campaign with no way to skip.
