Hello CS Forum, need the hivemind here.
I recently added a new credit card to my BNet and want that one to be the one that is used for my WoW sub (currently on the 12-month plan, won’t be renewing until like, next February or something).
But when I go to remove the old card from my BNet, I get this warning:

Question I have for everyone: Can I continue and remove that payment method? I don’t want my sub to be considered “Non-Recurring” in case Blizzard does another promo for recurring subs.
Will it just let you make the new one your default, leaving the current/old card on there? I’m also worried if it would try to authorize you for a second 12 month subscription by deleting the old card.
Or will it let you update your payment method, like it’s asking in your screenshot to the new card?
I was able to add the new card no trouble. And it is currently set as default. I was just hoping to take the old one off since it was removed by my CC company.
Did you click on where it says “update payment method?”

I did, and sadly it takes me to the following page:

and the error code link at the bottom there leads to…

Well that’s unhelpful. LOL Hang on one sec, let me see if I can poke around in my account and find anything to help.

Okay, so that is an issue that needs addressed, as clicking on that link to change payment method from the account settings gets me the same error. Follow the Customer Support link on that page to submit a ticket and let them know that the link to change payment method doesn’t work and you need to change the card for your recurring subscription.

Web ticket sent. At least I don’t have to worry about the next billing cycle for a good long time.

Hopefully it’ll be sorted out soon!

Honestly, after having 5 responses from Customer Support, I honestly think I’m at a loss of words.
First response was the template of taking all cards off and putting a new one on (We’ll call this Template A.
I responded by saying I do not want to do this and risk becoming non-recurring and being charged upfront when I resub.
Second Response: They then told me to go to the “Change Payment Method” link to update the subscription. (We’re going to call this Template B).
I responded saying that this link does not work and gave them a screen shot of the error.
Third response was Template A.
I responded with the exact same response I had to Template A.
Fourth response was Template B.
I responded to Template B with the exact same response I had to that one.
Fifth response was about not receiving game time from my subscription.
I responded with a breakdown of what my issue was word for word:
- I cannot change which card my subscription is being managed with due to the webpage giving me an error when I click the link
- I will not remove the cards because I do not want my subscription to be non-recurring and I do not want to be charged again up front like last time.
- I want Customer Support to change the card that my subscription is using.
Now we wait and see what they have to say again. But this is really not the kind of support I’ve had from them in the past…
One day later…
So, final update: none of them were able to help me. I had to take the card off and lose my recurring subscription.
Does anyone know if this current 6 month promo has an end date? I’d like to start my recurring again, but don’t want to be charged up front when I’ve already received the items.
