then why are you commenting here
poor level trolling my guy
I dont it my company phone so they can stick there autenicator were the sun dont shine
Ironic, company phones have way more tracking than a regular phone does
Well, sounds like a you problem that is easily fixed.
Get an authenticator attached to your account. The digital app is free and extremely easy to use.
This change was made to curb the advertisements for boosting that were coming from compromised accounts. You know what I’ve noticed since I’ve been online? Zero advertisements in the group finder.
Yes, is in the works but that’s besides the point. I would need a new phone just for this authenticator, which is trash. Now you’re talking budget for PC, budget for phone, etc. I’m just trying to play a game.
Doubtful. UEFI BIOS requires a certain motherboard. To force Win 11 on everyone would shut down all kinds of businesses that rely on old tech.
Think there’s a supply shortage now, see what happens when Windows tells the world they’re cutting off 10 like XP. Had a friend contracted through Burger King to move from XP to 7. was a massive effort and they only switched out a HDD. 10 to 11 means a whole new system.
My boss who by me stated he will sue if it goes on that phone
Unified Extensible Firmware Interface, just a fancy UI for your motherboard basically when you first turn on a computer.
Most people can’t run Windows 11 casue they don’t have a TPM chip on their motherboard. My computer is like 5 years old doesn’t have one can’t use win 11 but that doesn’t really bother me.
i guess making anyone who wanted to list a group have an authenticator is cheaper than actually going after the 1 or 2 websites that were responsible for ALL the spam.
They will just have generic group titles and continue. Im just not sure what the overall win is.
buy a new phone
there are newer phones that arnt that expensive and are more modern than whatever your using that cant use the app.
if your using an iphone 5 apple dosent even support that any more. im surprised you can run ANYTHING on that phone
it’s 4 years actually
Microsoft posted a workaround for that.
Calling BS on that. But if it actually is true, get yourself a different phone. A cheap second hand smartphone will run the Blizzard authenticator. You don’t even need an active sim card in the phone, it just needs to be able to connect to the internet via WiFi, and most modern routers allowing you to connect to the internet come with WiFi enabled.
You probably set it up before the phone number was a requirement. It is also why you would not have bag slots yet. The phone number is required for those, always has been. It used to be separate as a messaging service.
Seems kinda dumb to NEED a phone number i will admit to that
That has changed. You now need a valid phone number to set up the Authenticator. No pre-paid or VOIP. Cricket tends to have numbers flagged as pre-paid too so is iffy.
Yes, this all changed in the past year or so. It means fewer people can use an Autehenticator now compared to previously.
My displeasure has been voiced - but the powers that be are not likely to listen.
I forget I even have the authenticator, that’s how often I have to use it.
The mobile authenticator for smartphones is free.
I had the same problem years ago when I was on a Boost Mobile pre-paid plan.
??
No, you don’t. I know because I changed phone numbers very recently and I have not given Blizzard my new number, yet my authenticator works perfectly fine. Blizzard’s own support articles on setting up an authenticator also don’t state that it requires a mobile number, and those articles were updated 6 months ago.
All you need is a smart phone that can access the Google Play Store or the Apple Store. And you don’t need a mobile number to access either store, just a phone with an internet connection. Once you’ve downloaded the app, you just have to set it up (which requires a code from the authenticator app and a code from Blizzard’s website, neither of which is a phone number) and you’re good to go.
UEFI is a new type of BIOS. BIOS is like a firmware that runs your motherboard. Firmware is software embedded in your hardware. You can do a quick wiki read on BIOS or UEFI.
The point here though is that Windows 11 will require UEFI. Only certain motherboards use UEFI. If your computer is not a high end model bought within the past few years, it probably isn’t UEFI and is the legacy BIOS, i.e. not compatible with Windows 11
