Can't open a ticket - accidentaly sold BOE

I accidentaly sold a BOE, when I used the item restoration page is was till bound to me, and the customer support page won’t let me open a ticket to ask this question, so here it is: Is there a way to get the unbound item back or not?

It will likely return as a BoP from what I’ve seen from recent item restorations?

I don’t believe it’s possible or ever been able to restore an item to its BOE state once used. Even if it was a mistake.is that what you mean? If you can’t open a ticket then that usually means they can’t help you in this situation.

NGL, the idea of not being able to recover something so simple after an honest mistake is kinda stupid, specially with how pricy some BOEs can get. But thank you regardless, it wasn’t worth that much anyways.

Sorry to say, the same tools that we have access too, the Game Masters will have access too as well. So, if you’re trying to restore an item that was Bind on Equip, it will become Soulbound, no matter how it is restored.

If I’m understanding correctly,

  • You had a BoE
  • You equipped it, causing it to become soulbound
  • You deleted it
  • Now you want to undelete it, but you want it restored to its BoE state

Do you see how being able to unbind an item by gaming the item restoration system like that would be ripe for abuse?

Unfortunately yes, once a BoE item has been sold, it turns into a BoP item. There is no way to undo this.
I think epic and maybe some rare items will warn you that it will be bound to you after you sell/equip it, but not all.

Tough lessen to learn, but hopefully you will double check stuff in the future. There’s add-ons that auto vendor items for you and you can select stipulations such as not vendoring BoE items.

Hopefully the item was at least a mog you liked or didn’t have!

They never equipped it, but the appearance is automatically learned when it is sold which causes it to become soulbound.

Dunno if your issue was resolved but this thread sure helped me, accidentally sold my neck slot because it auto equipped the heart of azeroth and i was i tripping, i didn’t realize item recovery was a thing until i saw this thread so thank you! You saved me a lot of headache
