I tried to initiate a transfer but I had an active auction. I cancelled it and waited for a sold auction to clear. After 45 minutes or so, I tried to go an start the transfer but now the Shop button is gone.

5 days is a fairly arbitrary time frame for something like this. Not even a week? I just found out about it this afternoon. No emails or anything about this. Oh well, you’ve already got my money.
I’m sorry you weren’t previously aware of it Bytemonger. The option has definitely been present in-game throughout the entire window - presented as an additional button if you’re waiting in queue and as a separate shop button if you weren’t actively seeing a queue.
