I’m trying to login to one of my characters, and I keep getting the following error message:
You cannot log in until the character update process you recently initiated is complete.
I’ve not done any kind of character transfer or anything on this character, so I don’t know what’s going on. All of the other characters I’ve tried to login with have worked just fine.
Character: Launcelot
Realm: Winterhoof
I tried creating a support ticket, but there’s literally no option to do so. All I get is a redirect to the “Stuck Character Service”, and zero options at all to just create a ticket.
And for the record, I tried the stuck service, and it came back with “Oops! It looks like something went wrong.”.
The problem is, I cannot create a ticket. I can’t find the option to do that. All I get met with are options to “Change Description”, “Change Category”, and “Character Stuck Service”.
No option at all to create a ticket.
I don’t understand? Purchase what? I don’t use the store, and my War Within upgrade has been working just fine.
For added reference, I logged into this character no issues just a week ago.
“Character update service” normally refers to store items. Even if it is free processes like the gear upgrade for dormant characters or free realm transfers. “Problem with purchase” is where this message is handled. It is also a more priority queue.
Even then, this is the most appropriate ticket queue for your issue. Your character is acting like a character locked due to some service. The GMs who handle the Account/Billing issues are the best ones for that issue, as they’re more familiar with the ins and outs of some of the more intricate issues such as these.
Well, if something is going around in circles, that usually means that it’s not something a GM can assist with. Usually. People often mistake just how much a GM can and cannot do, so the circular thing is to try and dissuade folks from putting in a ticket, have a player wait any number of days, only to be then told they cannot help them.
Then too, such as with your case? This is an anomaly that is very much resembling something attributed to character services. There isn’t a perfect category since you didn’t technically make any purchases, but if a player comes here to CS with a character that is locked up like this? They’re always told to submit their issue via the Purchase Failure route. Even the most robust support system doesn’t contain obvious options for every single scenario.
Account and billing issues do tend to have a priority queue, so I do hope you’re not kept waiting too long for the issue to be addressed. Good luck to you.
