Can't Log in due to not being able to log into Authentication

So my boyfriend can’t log into his account due to his Authentication. He can’t log into that because the phone that was linked to it has been destroyed (he fell into a lake with it in his pocket). Well now when he tries to log in, to verify him it wants him to enter a code that was sent via text (which we can’t access since the phone is destroyed) or to enter the Authentication code (which we can’t access for the same reason.) Anytime I try to remove the Authenticator it just cycles me through the same process, and when it asks the two questions to verify his I.D, it just leads to an error page. Is there anyway I can fix it or do I have to wait for Blizzard to email me, just to ask me the same questions I’ve already answered?

Blizzard will only deal with your boyfriend he can log in w/o a authenticator.

I know that they only want to speak to the person who owns the account. He has tried, and I’m only asking since he can’t log into anything. And whenever we try to log in, it asks for the Authenticator and we can’t get around it.

If he has a spare email address, he can make a new battle.net account with that (or setup a throw away email with Gmail etc.) using his same name and then submit a ticket with his I.D. from that account referencing his locked and authenticated account.

They should be able to use his ID to remove the authenticator that way.

Did he happen to get a new phone, and transfer the number?

Ultimately, he should put in a ticket to see if they can remove the authentecator, if they did not get a new phone and transfer over the old number.

Often it’s because the picture does not meet the requirements for uploads, those requirements should be posted on the ticket page, likely because the size is too large for the upload, I think under 2MB

He can put in a ticket with the generic link.

You can remove the Authenticator via email. Stop wasting her time with long route information. I just did this. Click the Cannot log-in then when it asks for to send either SMS or email select email and resend the code to email. Then from there copy the code and place into the box, submit. It will ask you to do a couple of other tasks but should be rather easy requirements that do not require a phone. No reason to wait for a ticket that will take 5 hours to get a response asking for more information.

I’m not aware of any option to do that through email. You should only have the option to use either SMS, if you have it set up, or the Authenticator (assuming you still have access to it).

What link did you use to get to this option?

Literally did this a couple of hours before reading and posting on this thread. Its bad when even the moderators don’t even know their own site functions and capabilites. Yes there has multiple times where players either don’t own a phone or lost it. Blizzard has implemented this for those people.

Well, Faedra - this post is from July - and that was a very new feature at the time.
