Can't launch game after patch 10.2 downloaded

battelnet downloaded patch 10.2, and now I can’t even launch the game to check if servers are up. I know they are not up yet. Is anyone else having this issue? maybe it will fix as time goes by???

Restart PC if you haven’t done so.

I am able to start the game, load in and check server status (of course all offline but realm lists were brought back up rather fast)

I restarted my pc already it didn’t help. I’m running scan and repair now to see if that fixes the problem.

I ran scan and repair and shut down (not restarted) my pc and now it’s fixed.

didn’t fix mine, still getting not responding.

I had to shutdown my pc after scan and repair and not just restart my pc. That fixed it for me.

I can confirm that running a game “scan and repair” did not work solely by itself, but…doing a CPU shut down, waiting 20 seconds post shut down, and then turning the CPU back on actually worked post “scan and repair” function. Thank you everyone for your great input on this matter.

I don’t know yet I’m downloading it now but I gotta say, these “half a gig” updates are getting old, it’s like every time I log on to play and finally motivated myself to get in I’m met with a 5-10 min wait timer to download something… shoots me in the knee cap every time and then I find myself getting into a phone game and coming back later like “eh maybe tomorrow then” (maybe I got slow internet, I can’t imaging what people in Australia and places with bad internet are dealing with.

I get it, more content, but wow a half a gig each time… oof

I went and bought a new PC to fix this issue, scan and repair did not resolve this for me.

Zero issues here. Content has downloaded and I was able to launch WoW and see realms offline.

can you open task manager and see if its in the manager but just not pulled up?

After 20 years or so of growth, this game is thick and juicy now! :upside_down_face:

lol, game doesnt work… go buy a new pc… game still doesnt work. throw the pc in the trash… go buy another. rinse and repeat

I had this problem too. I think it’s related to the cinematic crashing.

What worked was launching the game and letting it run without touching anything, mouse or keyboard. Take 5 mins and it loaded after and has been doing so since.

i did the same thing, just hit play, and let everything do its thing for a couple minutes without clicking onto anything else. opened no problem. nothing new when a big patch drops haha
