I’ve looked online and everyone says it’s here or there but it’s not. Check mounts under the warband tab and all I have is the “Summon Random Favorite Mount” option, that’s all. Under talents in the spellbook under general there’s the skyriding button with the lift and speed and passives listed but no flight style there or anywhere else on the page. And this is getting really annoying as my mounts seemingly just randomly switch between styles. Really need some help getting this sorted. Thank you.
What level is your character? For me, the button is in the Mount Journal in the top right - there’s an icon you have to click to bring ip a drop down, and the switch flight style spell is inside the dropdown.
If you don’t see it there, try a full UI reset.
In the mount collection tab you should have 3 button top right close window summon random mount then beside that should be a 3rd icon when u click it should give u the option to switch as long as ur above lvl 30 and can fly.
it is actually level 20
I’m level 62. As I said, no other buttons in the top right corner other than the summon fav random mount. I’ll try the UI reset, thank you.
I don’t know if that will help. I checked out two of your characters, the level 62 and 61, and both seem to have the steady flight buff, but not the ability to switch between them. That should be granted when you hit level 20 and automatically learn Expert Flight.
I’m not entirely certain why you don’t have it. I’ll poke around and see what I can find, this might need to wait until I can talk to someone next week.
I don’t know if it will make any difference, but you might try leveling through Dragonflight and see if learning to fly a Drake out there gives you that ability.
Well, I just tried clearing the UI with renaming the required folders to Old. That didn’t work. Reloaded the UI in-game, still no luck. This is definitely a bug. I think the problem was I had just started the Dragonflight intro when I let my account lapse - RL obligations. So I started the process but never finished it. I have a funny feeling that may be why this is wonky.
I did start a new character and have started progressing through the Dragonflight story so I’ll keep going with that and see what happens. Meantime, if you can escalate this for whomever needs to look into this when they’re back from holidays I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again.
This may or may not do anything, but can you create a character in Remix? You get the ability to switch out your flight really quick (20 minutes? Maybe?) and you get the flight style option.
Thanks but it’s doubtful at this point. I just level my new hunter to 20 in the DI and it said I got flight style on screen, but again, looking at my talents and mounts page it just isn’t there. I may give that a try but I think a dev is going to need to look into this at this point because it’s a major bug for sure. Thanks for the suggestion.
Have you tried turning off any addons? There are certain ones, especially ones that effect mounts or other collections that can interfere.
It’s now resolved. When I finally started the Skyriding lessons at the Ruby Life Pools it finally popped. I now have Flight Style on my Mounts tab as well as several other Skyriding skills that I didn’t have previously. Bit of a weird bug but I think everything is working as it should at this point. Thanks for the help everyone.

That is strange. Dynamic flying/dragonriding was originally granted when you got that that point in the Dragonflight expansion but since then it should have automatically been granted when any of your characters reached level 20.
I’m guessing the license missed out on some important flagging because it never went through Dragonflight. Either way, I’m glad to hear that getting to that point in Dragonflight resolved the issue. Thanks for coming back and letting us know.
Changing the flight style is something i had to do many times and am quite experienced with it.
It’s under the “General” tab in your spellbook where it says “Switch Flight” or something to that effect, it’s quite tricky to locate, so I don’t blame you.
You also have to be level 20 in order to make the switch from Dynamic to Steady and vice versa. I hope that helped.
This is actually a critical point. “Switch flight style” used to be part of the “Skyriding” flyout spell in the General tab of Spells. In the following picture, it’s the rightmost spell button in the flyout.
Now it’s moved to its own button in the General tab, and furthermore it’s still a flyout, of exactly one spell (which is dumber than dumb).
While I’m sure this may help someone who might be having trouble locating it, this particular issue had nothing to do with an inability to see the ability in the spellbook. It was that the ability was not in the spellbook.
