So, I received a 460 pvp ring from my weekly conquest cap reward, and upgraded it to 465 with a trophy, but found out the annoying way that you apparently cannot corrupt an item that has been upgraded via the trophy. Luckily, I got another since I had been several weeks behind in my conquest cap, but alas, also unable to corrupt it.
I made a GM ticket and was given this response, this is an exact quote as I type it out word for word since I can’t upload links in forum posts:
"Game Master Daerdrin here. Thanks for reaching out, and I appreciate your patience while waiting for a response. I understand you’re running into some trouble adding a corruption effect to an item. I would be happy to take a look into this for you.
After checking into it, there are certain items which cannot receive a corruption effect. In most cases the items will be either quest rewards or items obtained via the weekly PvP Conquest cap turn in. We do not have any workarounds or ways to bypass the restrictions put into place on which items can and can’t be corrupted. Any changes to the way this system has been designed would need to be made by our developers. If you would like to see changes made, please be sure to provide feedback via our forums or the submit a suggestion button in the in-game help menu. "
I am curious if any blue poster can confirm that ALL items from the conquest turn-in will be ineligible for corruption, therefore making the only corruptable pvp items the random ones received from winning arena games???
Na the GMs have no idea what they are really talking about, just puppets to try and calm your rage and deflect your questions/problems.
There is a bug with using the Trophy on an item first, then attempting to use corruption token on the same item will give you an error message. If you applied the corruption to the item first, then used the trophy, all would be well and you would have your perfect item. However since this is a pvp problem this issue will most likely not be fixed for a month or two.
I hear you, but as written, after my trophy upgrade was ineligible for the upgrade, I was lucky enough to receive the same item at 5 ilvls lower since it had not had a trophy applied to it.
Not only that you can’t socket them either making Conquest reward items completely obsolete and pointless. I was excited to attain 25k Momentos and was going to socket my 460 PvP shield but error message that can’t be completed.
So why even have Conquest gear? Honestly they should just remove it if it can’t be used in conjunction with mandatory enhancements. Corruption and sockets are required to be viable yet you can’t achieve that with Conquest gear. Bad system all around.
I found out the hard way but not sure what I expected from a company that needs new Devs.
Or they can just make PvP Conquest gear work and be relevant at any point please and thanks.
Lmao are you serious? Got our vendors but can’t use em boys. Glad my fresh alt was able to easily get to a 12 mythic plus this week for a decent piece. Conquest item will be junk at my rating anyway.
I’ve run into this problem as well. Armor from wins can be corrupted. Same with armor from your weekly cache (I mean, it comes corrupted if not a trinket/azerite). The problem is the armor from the weekly conquest cap quest: they can’t drop corrupted and can’t be corrupted. The weak aura that shows if an item is pristine/corrupted/purified displays nothing for items from the quest. The problem, and I’m guessing here, is they just copied the items from the previous season and renamed them. So the game thinks they’re pre 8.3 items. Trophies might be causing a problem, but I wonder how many have been used on the conquest cap quest items and misidentified as a trophy specific problem when it’s really the base item causing the issue.
