Preserved Contaminant and Gouged Eye of N’Zoth can now be applied to items acquired from weekly rated PvP quests.
/end edit.
We still can’t apply corruptions to weekly conquest quest items.
**To be clear: You can’t apply corruptions to gear earned via the weekly conquest quest regardless of whether or not it has been upgraded with a Warlord’s trophy. I only mention the trophy below so as to make it clear I am not talking about a low level item that some would potentially deem not important.
I have 3-4 pieces that are my best in slot which I upgraded to 470 with warlord trophies that literally took me months to farm via weekly world PvP quests. These pieces are effectively worthless now completely invalidating all of that work.
I hope you are aware of this and still working on a fix. Right now it feels like you think the corruption application issues have all been resolved. They haven’t. Please don’t ignore the PvP player base on this issue.
I’m not sure. It honestly needs to be changed so it works on all, but have you tried (albeit maybe on an alt?) on a piece of gear that wasn’t upgraded to 470 with a trophy to see if it can be applied with a corruption?
Most likely a technical limitation. Whether it’s as easily fixed as the other one was is tough to guess – depends on how the game records item upgrades, and what sort of item upgrade it thinks corruptions are.
Keep bringing it up, and hopefully they’ll at least give you guys some insight into what’s going on, and even better, maybe fix it.
Don’t give them false hope. Blizzard hasn’t so much as acknowledged any problem with PVP gear and the preserved contaminants since the system went live.
Meh. Doesn’t matter to me anyway. Personally, I find it a little weird that Blizzard allows corruption effects to work in instanced PvP at all – it just makes already unbalanced PvP even more of a dumpster fire.
But hey, if he wants to ask for it to be easier to slip more corruptions into the Arena, he can have it – and all of the insta-gibs and 100-0s inside of a stun that come with it.
Blizzard will never admit there is anything wrong with PVP, but the fact they have to bribe one entire faction is enough to tell us there are problems they just won’t bother fixing.
I’m just asking for the right thing to be done. At the very least acknowledge this is an issue, bring it up to the devs, then let us know if anything can be done. The most frustrating thing is when a legitimate complaint is ignored.
Ingame, hit ESC, then click Help, then click Submit Suggestion. Type whatever you want in there, and click Submit. Goes straight to devs without hoping a CM picks it out of the bunch.
Yeah…those suggestions? They don’t go “straight to the devs” lol. Pretty sure they go straight to a delete folder. The forums are the best place to attempt to get real attention for an issue such as this. I’ve successfully done it in the past.
I don’t know if I’d consider that double dipping. It’s just the way the gear progression system works via conquest caps in PVP. Either way, Blizzard needs to address this. It’s kind of slap in the face to just ignore it.
Why would it be odd to allow someone to upgrade a piece of armor more than once? You currently can with other gear. For example you can add a socket and a corruption effect to gear other than the weekly conquest rewards. That is already upgrading an item 2 times. Would a 3rd upgrade be “crazy”?
This completely defeats the purpose of Warlord Trophies even existing as well. They exist solely to upgrade lower item level PvP gear to the item level appropriate for your current rating. The only items you will be getting that are not already at that ilvl would be the weekly conquest rewards.
If I earned world content gear and was able to upgrade them to mythic raiding gear and then expected to be able to upgrade them further by adding corruption, I think that would be unreasonable.
It isn’t unreasonable as the item needed to upgrade the gear is earned from your rating in PvP. You can’t upgrade an item to higher item levels unless you earned that rating. If you think that system is unreasonable then you should take it up with the devs as they implemented it all of BfA.
It’s completely illogical to say it’s ok to upgrade gear via even easier content (anything that awards echoes or mementos) then after say it’s unreasonable to be able and upgrade that gear even further via a method which requires for more work and skill.
“You can upgrade it twice, but three times is unreasonable”. It’s absurd.
